Hi, I notice that DHS is showing a Level 8 for Crowds on January 14th, trying to figure out if there is anything special going on that day to have that busy a day?
I don’t see anything on the schedule for that day but it’s worth noting that it was also an 8 last January 14th which seemed out of left field as well. They had actually predicted it to be a 9 but what they saw was an 8, with 5% of rides offline. There were no special events or activities on that day either.
It was also predicted to be a 8 (actual 9) in 2023,
Apparently people like going to DHS on 1/14?
I did find this
Wondering if that could be related?
Hitting 7, 8, and 9s at HS is pretty common these days. The park just has long waits for most rides because there are so few of them.
I’m not convinced the 14th has any particular significance…just that HS has been having high CLs for quite some time. Now, why are certain days of the week higher than others at HS I can’t say…but that whole week, 4 out of 7 days are 7 and higher. The following week, 5 out of 7 days are 7 and higher.
I think the thing raising the question is that it shows a 8 kind of out of nowhere (a 9 the day before but 5s and 6s otherwise around it)
I guess I would argue the 5s and 6s are the exception, not the norm…but the 7, 8, and 9s are the norms for HS.
For the most part, MOST of the days in a given a month, I think you will see 7s or higher.
I see what you’re saying.
It is worth mentioning that, to complicate the discussion, the PREDICTED CLs and the ACTUAL CLs have been quite different lately. While HS CLs, as an example apropos to this conversation, have been predicted to be quite high…the ACTUAL CLs after the fact (apart from the recent Christmas/New Years dates) have actually been quite low.
So…I think it is really hard to believe ANY predicted CLs at this point. I don’t know why they have been so disparate. Maybe because Disney crowds have dropped significantly in the past several months after coming out of 2023 with some of the highest attendance levels.
I also think it’s fair to note that while I get what you’re saying because I have looked at the whole month for HS, OP may only be looking at their actual travel dates, in which case the 5s and 6s seem to be the norm.
Sure. That’s fair.
