DHS on 4/1 (first time with a non-family member)

The good:

  • Checked into All-Star Sports on 3/31 and got a free upgrade! Stayed in Surfs Up
  • Dinner at Rainforest Cafe (Landrys member)
  • Got to the park earlier than expected thanks to the buses (will never stay off property again, here or at Universal)
  • Got to ride everything we wanted (including Runaway Railway, Star Tours, and Tower of Terror twice)
  • A nice break at Woody’s Lunchbox
  • Whenever it rained, we were conveniently indoors
  • Rode the entire Skyliner just for the hell of it
  • Had a light supper at Jaleo

The bad:

  • Fresh mulch at hotel smelled very strongly
  • Disney Springs full of teenagers acting like frat bros
  • Predicted crowd level was way off – expecting a 4 and got a 7
  • Slinky Dog Dash was down multiple times, so we never rode it (Lines app had me going there first, but despite getting there even before EE began, the queue was already up to two hours)
  • The line skipping at Toy Story Mania was insane
  • Half the games in the hotel arcade didn’t work

Bummer that you didn’t get to ride Slinky. Were you expecting that one as a bonus? I ask only because you said you got to ride everything you wanted and ToT twice.

I love that mulch smell - it’s one of my favorite smells actually! Sorry it was unpleasant for you.

Sounds like the pros were better than the cons! No trip is perfect, but this one seems great!

We did all three of those twice, not just TOT

SDD would’ve been nice, but it’s not a must ride for me

Oh wow!!! That’s even better!!

After the success of our trip, we’ve decided to organize an even bigger group trip three months to the date

We’re going to have a broader demographic (ages 13-59) and even more exciting, half of our number have never been to WDW! I’m looking forward to all the planning and acting as a tour guide
