Desert Inn or The Anaheim Hotel

Which would you recommend based on recent stats? We will only be using it to sleep. 3 full days at the parks. Let me know

The post below and the rest of that thread are great resource! It’s getting a little old, so maybe @lolabear_la can pipe in if she has any updates on rankings and thoughts.

I know @lolabear_la does not like the Desert Inn. I’ve stayed there, I think, three times - maybe four. I have not had the issues she has experienced, but it’s not a luxury place at all. However, the proximity, and often the price, cannot be beat. It’s clean, the rooms are good sized, you can often get a suite to house a larger family for the same as a room at another hotel, but the beds and pillows are not the greatest. And the hotel is kind of brown and drab as most of them are on that stretch of road. However, for a place to sleep that is quite a bit closer to the park than the Anaheim Hotel, I would probably choose it. I have not stayed at the Anaheim Hotel, but have considered it. Just didn’t work out being our choice.

Desert Inn is my go-to hotel for DL. It’s not fancy, but I’ve always found it clean and the staff friendly. I noticed the last time I was there that it seemed like they got some new pillows - they were not flat or hard. Only caveat is they don’t have much of a parking lot, so something to keep in mind if you have a car.

Oh wow, thanks for finding this old gem! I did a review for any outdated info. Those are all exactly the hotels I still check when looking for a place in Anaheim! Although I wept a little inside as I read about how once upon a time we used to be able to find rooms for $89-$99/night!!! :sob:

Guilty. You are right though about the price and location though. Every time I go to look up prices on Harbor, I wonder if it’s worth it to just try Desert Inn once. But then I remember what happened and the principle of it just irks me all over. Plus we really love the Park Vue & their customer service and their location (just as good as Desert Inn), and ease of parking.

So I am very biased against the Desert Inn! But if Park Vue isn’t available, The Anaheim is my next go to so it’s a great choice. They have great grounds that are actually nice to be around (a little less brown & drab) and they do have a giant pool. And their rooms are safe & clean & very ample space. And as a total bonus, they have The Pizza Press which is one of our favorite places to eat at in Anaheim.
