Delayed reopening

Is this true?

n a statement, Universal said: “We are extending the closure of Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood through April 19 as we continue to respond to current conditions and make the health and safety of team members and guests our top priority. This includes our theme parks and Universal CityWalk at both destinations. The Universal Orlando Resort hotels have also temporarily suspended operations. We will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments as needed, based on guidance from health agencies and government officials…”

Yes, Universal themselves posted this on social media and their website.

Is this a big surprise?

Disney won’t be opening until at least April 9th now due to the Orange County executive order. But Universal’s date seems more realistic.

If I were predicting the likelihood of any of the parks reopening, I would center a standard bell curve on Labor day. Pessimistic? Maybe. But I honestly think that what we have seen so far is just the tip of a very ugly iceberg…

I’ve been maintaining a “parks reopen by Memorial Day” stance.

I wonder if this isn’t a good realistic target. That is more than 60 days…
