That’s (over California) my favorite version!

The one I opened. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

But as much as I love it, I kind of like the world version in Epcot and the CA version in CA. It messes with my world order. But nevertheless I’m super excited I get to do it again.

Yeah she recently rode the CA version at DL and prefers the World version and was sad CA was going to be in place for her trip with her family.

Yeah, that would be my ideal too, but I am super excited to ride CA version in December!

Adding @Jeff_AZ - I will be there for October and December. Maggie and I are riding every ride in October so I will ride it. And I will skip in December (there is plenty to do) so no big deal.

I rode California back in 2018 and then again this last April. It is fine. And I don’t begrudge it coming to Florida - that is a fun way for people who will never go to California to see it!

@ParkRanger and I were discussing this. And she hit on the fact that the inclusion of the animals and the varied scenary is what brings out the emotions of the “over the world” version - for the two of us anyway.

ETA - Soarin is my “every trip” ride. It is so simple and magical in the way Peter Pan was for me as a kid. GOTG has also become “must ride” so one per park is enough for me.

I agree. But I’m excited to see it again for a short time.

This is a good way to describe it! I love Soarin’ (both versions). It’s very calming and awe-inspiring, and it’s also a good option for when DW is pregnant (one of her top faves). No trip is complete without it.

I don’t see this on their blog. Was it posted someplace else?

The funny thing is that I will be riding the World version at DCA next month and then the CA version in FL in December.

Argh. I’m disappointed it is only through the end of 2023. We won’t be there until March 1, 2024!!!

I love Soarin’ over California way more than Soarin’ Around the World. SAtW is basically a big computer-generated animation. I like the realism of SoC much more. And…the transitions in SAtW are just odd. Like…why are we flying directly into another airplane in Sydney, or flying directly into the Eiffel Tower in Paris, etc? Completely takes me out of the experience and reminds me that I’m watching an animation.

This is a distinctly un-Disney attitude!

It isn’t called, “Soarin’ Around the World With Pixar!”

I just watched SATW on youtube. I love it. The very best part is flying over the computer generated elephants, and then layer over the falls.

Listening to the oohs and aahs of the people riding it was also very satisfying.

The falls is my favorite part of the entire thing, since I believe it is one of the only scenes untouched by computer animation.

There are so many naturally beautiful locales around the world…and Disney feels the need to give us computer animation? Computer animated boaters, computer animated Taj Majal. Computer animated hot air balloons. Computer animated people and kites on the Great Wall. Computer animated breaching whales, polar bears, and calving ice bergs. Computer animated Eiffel Tower.

Soarin’ Over California, by comparison, is almost entirely REAL.
