Crowd projections for Halloween?

I’m looking at planning a trip to DLR. I noticed the crowd calendar projects that October 29/31 will both be 2s, which is PERFECT for us because my daughter’s birthday would fall on our rest day in between. But I’m also skeptical on how this is possible. Wouldn’t Halloween be a crazy busy day?? Has anyone been there before in the past and been surprised by how mellow it was? I’m thinking that maybe because people assume Halloween would be crowded, they avoid that date, and it actually leads to an emptier park. But that’s my only guess. Does anyone know how this is being projected? As much as I would love to be there at Halloween and go for my daughter’s birthday I also don’t want to majorly regret it by having the park completely packed.

I’m skeptical of the 2. However, I wouldn’t hesitate to go! You’ll still have a great time even if it is busy. Often, Disney schedules more CMs during a projected busier time, which might end up working in your favor.

It’s been a long time since we went on Halloween, but we did in 2014, and it was one of the least busy trips we’ve seen (but it was also a rainy day which definitely used to deter a lot of crowds). I would go back and look at the actuals from the last couple of Halloweens to cross-reference.

A lot of locals will go to DL in Halloween season to see it decked out and possibly go to one Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween party, but on actual Halloween, they are at home trick-or-treating in their neighborhoods. And most schools don’t have their fall break over Halloween (but do starting up the last week of September through the 3rd week of October) so it’s a little bit of a lull in the school calendar. But definitely check the last couple of years to see if this has held true.

It used to be that Super Bowl Sunday was a quiet day like Halloween since most people were home watching the Super Bowl but that’s caught on and now it’s a bit of a thing to go and wear your team’s jersey/gear in the parks (especially if they aren’t playing), so it’s not a quiet day anymore.

Total newbie here— what is CM?

Possibly a dumb question but where would you recommend going to check the previous years crowd numbers?

You should be able to toggle to a past date on the TouringPlans site and see what the actual crowds were that day.

It means cast member, a Disney employee. Welcome btw!
