There’s a new elevated sign up bonus on a couple of Chase Ink business cards: $900 bonus for $6K spend in 3 months. (Normally $750 for same spend.)
It is on the:
- Ink Business Cash
- Ink Business Unlimited
Which is a super bonus because both are no annual fee cards.
The Ink Preferred continues to have the same 90K bonus it has offered for awhile, but that one has a higher spend and a $95 annual fee.
IMPORTANT: do NOT apply for the the Ink business PREMIER, which is a cash back card and does not allow you to transfer the bonus as points. (Unless you really want cash back, I suppose, but the spend required is stoopid high and really, you could get BOTH of the other no fee Inks and for a little more spend than the Premier have more than $1,800 in cash back. But still: Just Say No.)
Back to the Chase Ultimate Rewards (UR) cards:
When you have a premium points card like a Sapphire Preferred or Reserve or the Ink Business Preferred, you can transfer those Ink bonus as points to partners and really get some value, as I’ve gone over many times in this thread and my Deluxe It Up trip thread.
So $900 = 90,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards.
(Plus the points you earn through spend.)
Don’t forget
that you can use a referral link to get another 20,000 Chase UR if playing the 2 player game with someone else. If not, be sure to ask a friend with any Chase Ink card for a referral link or use the handy dandy Liner Referral Spreadsheet for a link.
It is also important to note that Chase has already announced they are changing the referral rules:
As of October 7th, you will only get a referral bonus for a business card if the person applying for the new card does not hold ANY Chase biz cards. The person signing up would still get their sign up bonus if approved.
You can read the Doctor of Credit post on this for some more details, but as I understand it, it seems this new rule only applies to the Ink biz cards and not cobranded biz cards. But, we’ll need to keep an eye on reports after the change occurs to see how it really plays out, “The Rules” aren’t always the rules, as we all know.
What can you get with these Ultimate Rewards?
Say you get the Ink Unlimited, which earns 1.5 UR for every dollar spent. If you hit the $6K spend exactly, you’d end up with 90K + 9K = 99,000 Chase UR. (Not counting any referral in a 2-player game.)
Well, if you transferred those points to Hyatt, which is one of the best returns on points you could spend 3 nights in the Grand Cypress Orlando VIP Suite and still have points left over. If you were going this October, that room right now is going for over $1,100/night!
