Can’t tell. Hat.
Agree. I say this every time. I’m like, did I miss the directions or email on what all this means.
I just ordered the most basic (read: cheapest) for my upcoming trip. Teal, Cream, Blue and Black each respectively for my family with a Mickey face. They were $24.99 each with the ‘discount’ (vs $34.99-$39.99 for the fancier ones).
we never had them previously and getting ride pics is a priority for our 9 night trip.
I saved $100 using the link provided here to buy MMVMCP tickets…and then promptly spent that savings on Magic bands.
I think that is what DW and I will do.
Same for us.
???
I had the same reaction, but didn’t ask because I assumed everyone knew but me.
Let me find the link. It was on another active thread about Xmas party discounts snd how low the discount was for DVC/annual pass holders.
I don’t know all the tricks of the trade on user functionality on this forum, but it was in a thread called WDW Christmas that was dated August 2nd. While I pulled the trigger on the magic bands so I didn’t miss the delivery window, I haven’t actually purchased the MMVMCP tickets for Nov. 25th, but I have already spent the expected savings, lol, so if it’s a scam, I’d love to pivot.
I technically have an AP, but it’s registering in my app as a converted Platinum Pass, and I don’t have an actual pass number, so I can’t update my account to get the AP discount, however low it is.
The app you mentioned - is it MDE or is there a separate app for MB+?
Thank you!
In MDE itself. If you go to the hamburger icon (the three lines indicating to open up a menu), and scroll down you’ll find the MagicBands section. In there, you can no only add a MagicBand, but if it is a MB+, you can modify its behavior.
We are hoping to get Magic Band 2’s for our forthcoming trip - we just want the functionality of a wearable (ie impossible-to-lose - 3 kids in the party) room key, park ticket and PhotoPass link and have zero interest in a flashing/buzzing distract-a-band. Particularly one that requires recharging.
We’ll also want one each, so 5 uncharged MagicBand+ would be a pretty high cost for functionality we dont want.
I had thought about the keycard +fun lanyard approach, but I think that doesnt help us with PhotoPass - am I right about that?
So - can we get MagicBand 2 anywhere in the World? They dont ship internationally and I havent found a work around for that. I’ve seen some vague info about it being possible to find them in some hotel gift shops, but I dont want to spend day one trawling fruitlessly round multiple resorts on a fools errand.
Does anyone know if they are, in fact, available - and if so, where?
Thanks!
I’ve seen them for sale in all of the All Star resorts gift shops. They certainly don’t have the full selection, but they’ve always had many options. I didn’t look for them when we stayed at OKW.
The only ones it won’t help with are the ones that are on the rides. That said, last year, my girls didn’t have the MB+ and we were able to get every one of their ride photos by using the Memory Maker tool and giving a time of day and a photo of what they were wearing that day. We only wanted the ones from HM, TOT and Tron (where I had been separated from them [I have a MB+]). If you want to save the $200 you could just request them after the trip. Take note of the time as you enter the ride vehicle. Or buy just one or two.
IF you opt for a Magic Band of any type, I recommend getting something like this to ensure they stay on. (Not necessarily this brand or anything, but demonstrates.)

Fab - can I ask, how recently was that?
HA - tell my son whose brand new Captain America MB+ disappeared randomly somewhere in World Showcase! But we did get it back from Disney Springs Lost & Found! But I second the suggestion to keep an eye on them.
I was at WDW in August and they have MB+ at all resort gift shops but they are not the largest selection. The biggest selection is at the Pin traders at Disney Springs and perhaps Connections at Epcot.
