Boozy Bougie Birthday Bash!

It truly is! I was joined by another gentleman who is here celebrating his 70th anniversary. He’s now 89. We had a lovely conversation about his youth. He used to brush/floss his teeth with straw and quills as a child because that’s all they had. He was born during the great depression. He remembers sodas being less than a nickel and quite a treat. His dad was a traveling salesman during that time and his neighbor who was a farmer helped supply them food. He was one of 9 kids. :exploding_head: He served out country on the USS Midway for years and has a few great stories, but he also assured me the food was bad.
He says he will be there every morning this week, so I’m hoping to continue our new friendship if I wake up in time.
His best life advice: be kind
His best marriage advice: don’t get hearing aids.

My favorite egg so far is Steamboat Willie. But they are are so cool! I’m sending Belle to a friend of ours. She just had the first grandbaby from her oldest child (#4 for her though). Her middle name is Belle, Lucia Belle Lopez. When I went to meet the new baby Saturday, mom showed me a pretty drawing (painting?) from Disney Springs that the Godmother brought back 2 weeks ago. Lucia but in bubble letters with all kinds of Disney fun in them.
Any who, back to the regularly scheduled program.
Love a morning hot tub soak. Gets the muscles and joints ready for the day. I’m not a big talker to strangers but I absolutely love how often and in depth yall do it and oh the stories you must hear!

Now for the real scoop on the grand. The rooms are amazing. Incredible storage, beautifully decorated.
The lobby is not grand. This needs to be the year of renovation. The carpet is visibly worn down, the furniture is not very comfortable and what used to be great acoustics for an amazing band is now just a place for the echoes of kids screaming. The beautiful solarium that the tea room used to be in is empty. It’s sad.
