We have an August trip planned and will be staying at SSR. We usually buy our park tickets through undercover tourist and I have not done so as of yet. Do I need to have tickets bought in order to book my fast passes?
Yes, you cannot book fast passes without tickets.

Undercover Tourist does digital ticket codes, though. You should have your ticket info within minutes of purchase. Then, it’s just a matter of heading over to My Disney Experience and adding your ticket info to your account, and voila! At the 30-day 60-day mark, you can make your FastPasses.
Edit: Correction, since you’re staying on property, you have a 60-day window for FastPasses.
