Blizzard Beach - where to sit in the shade with kids

Morning all

I’ve a few Blizzard Beach places saved as options of where to set up camp for the day but would appreciate any suggestions.

Rope dropping with two kids (5 and 7) and would like loungers in the shade - any insights on the best place to head?

Also any touring plans insights on what to hit up first and that our priorities should be (they wont do the biggest of rides of course) much appreciate.

Thanks

If you’re planning to spend time at the kids’ play area (zip lines, etc), there is a nice shaded area right next to it that we spent a lot of time at when our kids were that age.

Hi @magiccox, curious how this turned out for you. Could you share some tips?

I’m headed there in April for the first time with my DS11 & DD9 and have the same question. We’ll be six in total, including my septuagenarian mother.

Hi @paulasc, I’m a BB noob and having hard time finding this spot on the map in MDE. Could you share a screenshot? Thanks in advance!

Hello! We rope dropped and went to the kids area where there were a few large shade structures and got four beds together easily there, but within 10 mins it was full.

You get to enter the park before official opening time, head right and all the way to the end where they stop you just before Tike’s Peak. Once the first person has gone down Summit Plummet to announce official opening they’ll let you in. Cross the bridge, head left and plonk yourself down under the shade… the furthest away one is where we put ourselves.

It’s been forever since we went to Blizzard Beach but the spot @magiccox shared looks like what I remember!

this is amazing, thanks so much @magiccox ! Is it not too overrun by small kids?

Do you recall if the other structures on the map around the park are also public and “free”? Or are they mostly cabanas. Am thinking might send an adult scout to one of these at rope drop as well

Not seeing a bridge on your route…is the map not faithful to the path?

They don’t show as bridges, just paths that cross the water.

It’s the kids area so there are going to be a LOT of kids everywhere, but it’s not hugely different to any other area tbh. From memory most of the other structures are shaded and free for all.
