Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique timing?

What appointment should I try to get for BBB? I was thinking to try for 8am after an earlier park day, Maybe the day after AK. I like the idea of an early appointment bc it won’t be backed up. My 7 yr old is already upset with my time choice. She wants to sleep in and eat a leisurely breakfast.

So if you plan on getting a dress I recommend a later time. Of course you can change but that’s a pain too. We ended up doing no rides after our appointment.

Also, allow 90 minutes. It can get backed up but it’s not too bad.

Why is a later time better if getting a dress? We never went right at opening before, but I remember always feeling very rushed to get dressed and then more relaxed once we moved on to the hair and makeup.

Everyone wants a dress, but they might not have the bigger sizes for my older 2, so I will have a backup dress.

Because it’s hard to walk around in the dress and we were afraid it would rip on a ride so we edit do much afterwards.

Not sure when you went last but before this year it was 2019 and they changed the layout. You go to a separate building now to do the fitting and they really take their time. Then you go to the original building to get your make over.

Also, i wouldn’t want to waste park open time there.

If ever there is a day that a princess gets what she wants, it’s on the day she visits BBB

In which case I wouldn’t be going for an 8am appointment. The last thing you want is a grouchy 7 year old on what should be such a wonderful day.

Especially since you said it would be the day after another early start. She could be exhausted before you even start. I’d have a much more relaxed day and try for the appointment sometime after lunch instead.

Pro tip: You can bring your own dress and it would be a good bit less expensive to do so. We did that in 2016 with my then 6YO girls and rented a locker to put them in. They dressed up and we went to the photo shoot afterwards. It was Disney Magic!

Oh I know that and last time we had an outfit and she changed her mind last minute and of course gets sucked in when she sees what’s there. Good intentions - and we’re suckers when it comes to Disney since it’s a special trip.

We’ve only ever had west coast experience in DLR, but we’ve like doing it the first hour or so of regular park hours, but not right at first to leave time to do a quick ride (or two) in FL before popping over to BBB. We’ve twice done slightly later: once at closer to 11-ish and one midday at around 1-2ish which was fine too but I liked it less than earlier because it left less time to meet characters in her get-up once the appointment was done. We have done both bringing our own dress & buying it there with the package.

When we had early appointments, I also got lunch reservations for a princess character meal (back when they still had an in-park princess meal) and then spent any free time between the appointment, photo shoot & lunch meeting as many characters as possible. With the later appointments, it wasn’t time to do both character meal (and none go that late in DLR anyway) and meet characters so that’s why I like the later appointments less.

I also like the idea of getting a full day’s worth of photos & memories in the 'do and 'fit. And will oftentimes keep the hair done up overnight & tidy it up with the supplies they send you with so that the next day it’s still very presentable for photos & such. We never had issue with riding rides either in the dress (usually when coming back in the evening after a late midday break once most characters are done meeting).

The characters are back at CRT.

Yes, for a WDW trip with BBB, that’s definitely what I would do.

My experience with planning BBB is limited to DLR on the west coast & back when we did it the princess character dining was Ariel’s Grotto that’s been closed down and no in-park princess meal has ever replaced it. And I only mentioned it because I loved having my DD done up ahead of a princess meal so another reason why I personally loved the early appointment.

That’s what I was thinking - to meet princesses right after, go to the princess lunch, and then rides. We are aiming for December and many of the days MK closes at 6pm for the Christmas parties. So, unless we go on the 11pm closing day (which is usually a high crowd day) or book the party for the same day, we have to go pretty early. I might look to do that - get there late and go to the party same day. I have to try to plan out the late days & early days still. I love Disney Christmas, but planning around parties is always an extra challenge for me. I used to play it more by ear, day to day, depending on how we felt, but I want to makes sure we get BBB and party reservations in advance. I’m afraid of not finding availability.

I went on a the 60+day mark and saw no availability. Still nothing. Is walk-up in the morning or some other time possible/likely? BBB is the main thing in all of WDW that my 6 yr old wants.

Not very likely. Keep trying and checking - it may pop up. You really do need to book it 60+3 or 4 minimum.

I don’t remember my timing exactly but I did BBB with my DD when she was in preschool. We brought a Snow White dress we already had. The experience was wonderful, and she was beautifully dressed up the rest if the day. I think maybe we did it around 10 am. I think we did some rides first.
