Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique question

Hey all, trip coming up this summer! Taking my sis and her 2 kids, 10 yo niece and 12 yo nephew of mine. I want to do the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for my niece, she’s a spunky little redhead who loves Merida and Ariel! My main question is there a day for us that would work better? I’ve never done this attraction and we plan to do 2 days at MK. One will be a short day thinking 5-6 hours, see some shows, take in the park, but not go too hard. Then our last day of the trip will be a full day at MK before we head out the following day. Thinking we’ll get her a dress to do as well and I’m kind of leaning toward the short day to do the boutique so she won’t be too uncomfortable in the heat in a dress and all the hair and whatever else they do. Thanks in advance for the feedback

So you may have trouble getting a reservation early on the trip but if you can I would go with the short day and try and go later in the day. We had the issue you are talking about - my daughter had on a beautiful Aurora dress but we didn’t feel like she could ride anything in it so we didn’t do anymore. If you do the long day, definitely schedule it for late.

I think either day would be good, and you might not have much choice depending on reservation availability. If you’re staying on site, you can book 60 days in advance - but it opens at midnight, unlike dining, which opens at 7 AM.

Plan for at least an hour at the boutique and pictures afterwards. It might be a nice break in the middle of a long day. It’s also fun for the girls to walk around the park in their princess gear.

We took my daughter (5) to the boutique for the first time this morning. She loved it! We bought a dress beforehand, which I think worked really well. It guaranteed that we had one she wanted and that it fit. My mom even sewed a cotton camisole inside so it wasn’t itchy! And we saved $50 compared to buying it at the boutique. If you go that route, have your niece wear normal clothes to the park and change into the dress after you check in at the boutique. The dressing room is part of the experience. My daughter is currently sleeping in her tiara because she didn’t want to take it off.

Have an amazing time!

I was going to recommend planning 90mins plus photos

Great info! Thank you

Awesome info! Thank you for responding. What package did you purchase then since you already had the dress?

I love this!

Just FYI, I believe the Emporium now has a “build your own tiara” activity now where you pick out the tiaras and stones for it. They’re like $100 each but might be fun for a one-time activity for princess-loving kids.

It’s called the Signature Package and was $99 plus tax. It came with a cute t-shirt, a sash, a drawstring bag, and the leftover makeup, nail polish, and face gems from her appointment.

There are 4 general hairstyles. My daughter picked the Enchanted option, which was a bun with a donut for styling, a tiara, and a rhinestone Mickey clip in the back. Those were included with the price.

I had read to allow 90-120 minutes for the appointment, so I scheduled our lightning lanes accordingly. I think ours went faster since we didn’t have to pick out a dress. Princess Fairytale Hall is near the boutique, so we went there afterwards and met the princesses while we waited for our LL return times.

I have never spent that long. In 2019 I was shocked we were done in 25 minutes! 2023 was a bit longer but still about an hour and we picked out dresses both times. Since they changed the location a few years ago they are a bit more efficient since you pick out the dress in one area and get done in the original area.

That is exceptional and I would base typical experience on this

We did it twice when DD was younger and I would agree that planning on 90 mins is the minimum. I had a guest recently who found they were running so far behind at BBB that they had to bail to go eat at CRT and return after (at the direction of the CMs) which was terrible because the whole point of the timing was to dine in the castle as a princess.

Wow. That is horrible. I’ve been lucky.

A big part of BBB is that they are extremely cutely dressed up for the rest of the day. So you may want a longer day for that.

See I feel the opposite. We felt we couldn’t do anything afterwards and recommended doing it later in the day.

I could see doing BBB and then a fun dinner and meet and greets but the dress would make my kid too itchy for rides. Maybe it depends on the sensitivity of the kid and the time of year (temperature/humidity).

Yes, around 3pm and then do dinner and shows/characters. We were also afraid the dress would get dirty or ripped. We did want to keep it nice to be worn again.
