My mother turned 70 this summer and my cousin turns 50 shortly after our December trip—both lifelong WDW fanatics! We’ll be 4 people total with Memory Maker, staying 8 days / 7 nights (6 park days). (And yes, I am making her an “I’m older than Disneyland by X days” shirt
)
Question 1: Is it okay to mention birthdays at all 7 of our table service meals, and when should I bring it up—at ADR booking, calling ahead, or at check-in? (And if at check-in, how can I do it each time without the birthday girls overhearing?) (And is mentioning the birthdays worth the effort?)
Here are our current table service restaurant plans:
- 50’s Prime Time Café
- Chef Mickey’s (she goes crazy with the napkin when the lights start flashing, lol)
- Le Cellier
- Raglan Road
- Skipper Canteen
- Whispering Canyon Café
- Yak & Yeti (I’m trading in points for Landry’s gift cards to free up a credit for Le Cellier)
Question 2: Outside of restaurants, what other ways can I work with Disney staff to enhance the birthday celebration aspect of our visit?
