Best way to park hop MK and Epcot

My brother and I want to ride both Guardians of the Galaxy and Tron in a single day. We thought we would get a park hopper for the day and buy ILLs for those rides. Does anyone have suggestions on whether this is doable, which park to start in, other tips from anyone who has done this? We are slightly more interested in the attractions in MK, but It would be slightly preferable to wind up in Epcot and eat there but that’s not a huge consideration.

I, personally, would start at Epcot, and then ride the monorail to MK.

Totally doable
Where are you staying?

MK will almost certainly open earlier than EP, which may be advantageous if you’re early in the day tourers. But MK will also provably be open latest if you’re a later in the day tourers.

Simply take the monorail from one to the other. In either direction you’ll need to change trains at the TTC.

Depending when you go, MK might close early for a Halloween or Christmas party. So check that first.

MK is great on a party day as many guests get scared off going. So don’t let that put you off, it just means you start there.

Also I love riding the monorail TO Epcot and doing the loop through Fiture World.

We don’t know yet if TT will be LLSP (equivalent to ILL) or LLMP (though the general guesses I’ve read are that it will be LLMP). We also don’t know if TT will have a period of VQ.

Are you staying on-site? If off-site, you may have trouble getting Guardians LLSP and TT LLMP if this is a 1 day (or 2-3 day) ticket. Even if on-site, you may end up with LLSP and LLMP times for late in the day which would mean MK first and then EP.

Another issue I see with this is that you would not be able to use the LLMP at MK if you (A) book LLMP for TT and (B) go to EP as you second park of the day. Ideally, with LLMP you would tap into a EP LL in the morning and then start booking MK LLs for later in the day.

I don’t think OP was discussing TT were they?

I’m not sure what all your abbreviations are, but no, we were not asking about Test Track if that is TT. We are staying off property. Right now you can buy 2 individual lightning lane passes up to 3 days in advance and both Tron and Guardians are eligible. We are planning to go sometime 12/4-11. My guess is we will let the available times be our guide unless both are available. Then we would think about which is best as a starting point. Thanks all.

This question is pertinent from another perspective … IIRC you cannot purchase a Hopper option for only one day of a multi-day ticket

I am aware. If we were doing more than 1 day this wouldn’t be an issue. Thanks.

That is correct

My mistake. I saw Epcot and Guardians and then somehow read Test Track instead of Tron because my brain was set to think Epcot. Sorry.

In any event with an off-site res booking 3 days out, LLs for Guardians and Tron are not sure things in terms of availability and if available, be prepared for both to only be available in the pm. I would recommend monitoring LL availability in the days leading up to your visit to help you plan.

Currently 3 days out …

See here for Tron:

And here for Guardians:

Yes, I understand it’s a risk. Looks like if I was to book right now three days out it is doable- July 2 Tron at 1:50 and Guardians at 4:40, so start at Epcot, then hustle over to MK and back to Epcot for dinner. It’s 10 EDT now so maybe 3 hours earlier and choosing a lighter day might help. Otherwise we can just do rope drop at MK and an ILL for Epcot with a late time. We just have to be flexible. I may break down and do one night on site…
