Hi all. My wife and I are older and Nondrinkers. Last year when the Beak and Barrel opened we tried to just take a look at the place as I love Pirates of the Caribbean. No such luck as reservations were required and they wouldn’t even let you in to just see the place. This coming April I was able to get a Noon reservation but am unsure if I want to keep it or not. As stated, we don’t drink, but I see they have a lunch and dinner menu. Not much on it and I don’t know the price or if the food is any good. What do you all think that have been there? Is it worth the stop?
There are a few nonalcoholic options…and the corn thing we had was actually really good. More a snack than a meal, but I definitely would order it again if it were available someplace else. (That is to say…we were glad to have seen it, but the place is a one and done for us.)
You can see the menu with prices on Disney’s site. Lunch and dinner are the same. Dining Menu
I went by myself in Sept, and had the Corn Griddle Cake with Chipotle-Braised Chicken. It was tasty, and big enough to be a light lunch or a snack, not a whole meal. My ADR was 10:10 a.m. so very soon after they open for the day and was not crowded. I was placed at the bar. I’m in the minority, I had a good experience (people, staff, food, seeing the special effects/entertainment). I was lucky.
People are often seated at tables with other parties. Some spots are standing only. Some spots do not have a great view of the assorted special effects/entertainment. Set your expectations accordingly, and you may do ok for a visit just to see the place.
That’s what it was we got! but without the chicken. Definitely recommend it if you end up going.
Agree on the corn griddle cake.
We had a great experience, but we had a great table, a fantastic server, and enjoy alcoholic beverages.
I don’t know if I would go in if I wasn’t having the drinks
This was our experience, and if you aren’t okay with that I don’t recommend. We aren’t people people and we ended up at a table with two other parties. It was highly awkward. If you are extroverts, though, it should be fine. (We are NOT.)
We were just there last week. Like the others we were seated with other people which was fine with us. But we didn’t have a great seat to see what was going on in the rest of the room. We all got the alcoholic drinks which were pretty good and the Island Provisions. That was basically like a chip/dip appetizer and very tasty. Be aware there is a time limit as we were having a good time at our table but they came and told us when our time was up.
I cancelled my husband and I’s B&B reservation in November because of all the stories about them putting parties of two with families. I don’t mind being sat with other groups of adults, but it’s kind of awkward to put two randos in the middle of someone else’s family dinner.
We were on the opposite end of that at Oga’s, when they put a party of two with our party of 8 adults and kids. Nice enough people, but it was physically uncomfortable because of how packed in my family was in the booth, and their little stools didn’t look comfortable either.
We did a reservation for 13 so had a bunch of tables right in front of the bar mashed together I believe. So it was just us. But I thought the food was honestly really good. A little kid might not like but I however many people second, third, whatever we’re on by now vote for the corn griddle cakes. Both were really good but I preferred the spicy on the veggie version. The chips mix was good too. We didn’t do the sweet options so I cannot comment on those but they come with the nonalcoholic drinks. I did not like the margarita but sounds like you’re not going there anyway for that. And the other drink I tried but cannot remember was good. I believe one of the kids got a mocktail and I heard no complaints.
