Up TOO EARLY. Have reservations at Hanauma bay this morning. Hopefully my phone pouch holds while snorkeling 🤿 and in other news …. 23 years ago today we were married at a CSR garden at WDW.. Stayed a week in a FW cabin w/ the kids for a familymoon.

Sitting this one out. My mom taught me to snorkel in FL when I was little. 23 years ago on our familymoon I was doing the snorkeling at TL and had my first panic attack. I saw a shark, bobbed my head up and the CMstarted yelling at me. I started hyperventilating. This week in the Aulani lagoon was the first time I’ve been snorkeling since. Got in Hanauma bay, it’s rocky, didn’t pack my water shoes can’t see the bottom and my breathing started getting irregular, took twice as long to climb out trying to control my breathing. My guys are out in the bay now. :disappointed_relieved:. Here’s pics from ourseide.

I totally sympathize with you about snorkeling! I went to Hanauma Bay as a barely-HS-graduate chaperone for a band trip. I was too scared to snorkel so I watched from the beach as my friends swam among the fishes. It freaks me out! Not just the breathing but also the sharks, fish, eels, etc.

Sorry the snorkeling didn’t work out. But it’s still super pretty!

I went snorkeling when I was Very Pregnant with DS17. I couldn’t tread water because my stomach kept bobbing up. Definitely started to panic. (I was okay once I went prone, luckily.)

Thanks for the sympathies :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:. I did try again. 15 min to get in. Lasted 10 and started freaking out. Camera wouldn’t cooperate so couldn’t document anything. Got back in as soon as I could. Guys are still out there. I like the Aulani lagoon better. It’s clear. More fish variety, no corals to worry about. Too many rules here.

Dropped some coin in that gift shop. I’ll show later along with a fish guide :tropical_fish: :fish:

Ack one of the reasons NOT to live here…. Look at how much I paid for a bell pepper!?! At the commissary too which usually has lowest prices

The guys both got board shorts and T shirts. I got 2 stickers, glass turtle and fish chart

I’ve crossed out all the fish :tropical_fish: we’ve seen at Aulani and Hanauma. The guys saw more at HB but I couldn’t make it. I’ve seen more variety in Aulani lagoon (I noticed I missed marking some we’ve seen)

DS said he was nervous at HB BC of urchins

Saw this truck twice on way back. First time at the place from before but it wasn’t open. And then again at a blood drive but couldn’t get to it. And too tired to figure out how

Should I be able to see the Orion constellation here? I think I see his belt. Too much light pollution from the resort to see a lot. I’ve been waking up between 12-1am Hawaiian time and then trying to go back to sleep until 6am. There are lots of rooms with lights on.

Nope

Orion is past me already. Technology is SO cool!

The constellation you should try to see is the Southern Cross. We did the stargazing activity at Aulani (which was fabulous) and our guide pointed it out.
