I was looking at some regular crowd predictors online and it was saying August next year was going to be green most of the month. Aside form weekends, when it showed average. But on TouringPlans it’s basically dark red the entire month - but so are most months of the year. So, basically… Does that mean all the other info online is false? Next year we basically have no choice but to go in August. My preference would be late August but my son has to enrol in college and get his gcse results, so we have to be back before the 21st too

Summer crowds aren’t what they once were…particularly late August. But remember, TP measures average wait times, not REALLY crowd levels. So, there may be fewer crowds, but the wait times might still be high because Disney also reduces staffing when they know they won’t have as many people.
On September 6, for example, TP reported crowds at AK as a 3. This is probably true. Wait times weren’t too bad. But the ACTUAL crowds? It felt insanely busy!
I would plan to go when you can go, and not worry too much about crowds.
(One note…the “red” of Touring Plans is more aligned with medium crowds based on the color scheme they are suing. 1 is yellow, 5 is red, and 10 is black. So, not sure what chart you were referencing, but I’d look at the numbers more than the color!)

At 11 months away and with no data to see what Epic Universe will have on Orlando theme parks next year, I would not worry too terribly much about the crowd levels.
