The trick is whether they’ll go to sleep! Last year we would have been screwed…my youngest would just stand in the pack n play jumping up and down, saying “I see you!”

Exactly this. My kids just could not or would not. Not sure. We tried a few times and then just gave in to more expensive accommodation so everyone could get sleep and be happy on vacations.
