Arrival Time for Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue

We’ve been to the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue twice in the past with plans to do it again this May. Both times we arrived 45 minutes to an hour before the reservation time and it seemed a waste of time getting there that early. Since the assigned seating is predetermined, it seems to me that there is no real advantage to getting there early, right? I’d be curious to know the experiences of anyone who has ever cut it close to the reservation time; say 10 or 15 minutes before the specified reservation time.

The only advantage for me would be to get there before the earlier show (if you are not going to the first show) gets out. My only goal would be to get into the bathroom before everyone exits.

No point. You have to stand in the elements and wait. I don’t know why they say arrive 30 minutes in advance. 10-15 is fine. Only reason I would arrive earlier would be if you need to talk to chef about allergies.

Thanks for the information. We are going in two weeks, so I was wondering how early we needed to be for the 6:15 show. We plan to take the boat over from Magic Kingdom.

I wouldn’t do that personally but I’m an Airport Dad.

The recommendation is 30 minutes ahead.

Disney transportation might be the reason. Sometimes a boat is arriving as we are. Sometimes it’s departing which means possibly a 20 min wait for a 20 min boat ride.

If you’re driving (designated driver) the most reliable way to cut time is drive to the FW Outpost parking and get the internal bus. If doing this I’d still plan to be walking to the Outpost bus stop at least 35 minutes before seating time.

My preferred way to do HDDR is use Disney Transport arriving 45 min early to look around the trading post or grab a beverage and a rocking chair.

Yes. Wasn’t on purpose but I arrived after my reservation. Friends checked in around the reservation time. I’d probably try to be a bit earlier than that but they didn’t give out table away

Right? Time at Crockett’s is not wasted time!

Especially since a favorite aunt and uncle were Crocketts. It’s a sad trip that we don’t get over there to sip and remember.

Yes - with transportation I can see why. We stay there so no way I would arrive that early.

That is my impression as well.
I have wondered if you get a better table in your section if you arrive early. But haven’t looked into that. Last time we arrived it was fairly late (only 10 mins before reservation time) and still got a great seat in the center of the room.

The seats are preassigned based on how early you booked. Arriving early doesn’t get you a better seat.
