Any deals to really bring down the price of monorail hotels for a family of 5? We always stay offsite for the better price. We are still flexible, not having booked anything yet, but would like to go in December. The best I’m seeing is 25% off some dates in December. But it’s still at least $700 a night. Is that a good deal?

Are you looking at Poly? See if you can rent points or pick up a dedicated rental for a DVC studio there. They sleep 5.

December is peak season, so your rack rate starts off incredibly high, and so your discounted prices are still often very pricey.
Could you consider early February? The first week has the lowest prices I’ve seen in a long time.

As a comparison, we were debating going 12/16 vs. 1/6 to fit my son’s college schedule. 12/16 had decent discounts available, while at the time 1/6 had nothing. The 1/6 dates were still considerably cheaper. Now that you can get discounts in January/February there likely would be a huge discount in pricing. Obviously you may not be able to go then, but if you can it is a big savings…

Yah - the recent discounts they rolled out did lower the cost of our trip. Looking at the per day costs, I think it was no discount on 1/6, decent on 1/7 and then a fairly nice discount the next 2 nights. But that Saturday marathon night had a much steeper price both before and after the discounts…
