Any advice for Cedar Point?

Hello everyone,

I’ve been quite absent from the forums for awhile b/c of just a huge amount of life going on, but I wanted to check in and see if anyone has any advice for us b/c we’re about to go to Cedar Point (Sandusky, OH) and have never been. It’s been my 16 yr old’s dream for several years and we decided to do the long drive and then stop over at Dayton on the way home b/c we used to live there.

I wanted the easiest possible trip b/c DH and I are exhausted beyond belief by this school year (and honestly the past several years…) and we have various mobility issues and are just tired. So we’re staying at The Breakers hotel where we can easily walk from the hotel to the park and to the Lake Erie beach. We have 3 full days and the possibility of 2 partial days if we get out there fast enough; we are getting the All Parks Pass added on to the Kings Dominion passes we got for spring break, so that we can go to this park and then also our home park (for a little while longer…) Six Flags America.

We’re planning to get the fast lane passes for only the kids for at least one day and possibly two. Us the parents simply can’t keep up with all the running around they’d have to do to try and get on rides if we didn’t have that. And we don’t know if we’ll ever go back.

I was shocked that I managed to get one room with Chase points, but they literally had one room left, and then I had to go on their website and get our 2nd room with money (and honestly I wanted this part of the trip to be longer but that was truly the only room they had and the only dates they had). So, I called and had them link our reservations. I really hope it works out. I would really like to have adjoining rooms, they are the same room type. I wouldn’t be surprised however if this just doesn’t work out well. But I was’t willing to give up the points room b/c it was pretty expensive.

I booked this very last minute and with very little research compared to my past trips. But it seems like a park we can easily do with the fast lanes. DH and I just want to do stuff like the train, the boat, and the carousel. And watch our kids on the crazy coasters. We know from past experience that all 3 of our teens can do the intense rides, although the 13 yr old may not go on all the most intense ones. But we’re definitely getting her the fast line like her brothers b/c it would be very unfair to her not to have it. They went on a lot of things together when we were at Kings Dominion last spring.

Have a great time! We love Cedar Point, although don’t go as often as we used to. Staying at Breakers is great! Highly recommend getting the drink bands of you haven’t already. Well worth it.
