Another newbie question, when does autopay charge annual dues?

We just became DVC membes–Yay! …and just got the annual dues notice like everyone else I assume. Two quick questions before I click go:

  1. There is no processing fee for using a credit card, right? I don’t see it mentioned and will always opt for points if there isn’t any additional CCard fee.

  2. For Autopay the website says they charge on the 15th of the month with some weird caveats, but that seems more for the monthly payments. If I set up for Autopay of the annual amount, will it be charged on Jan 15th or right away? For budgeting reasons I’d like the charge to show up in January, not December.

If you just turn off autopay, you can manually pay it when you want to.

I don’t have autopay set, because I always pay with discounted gift cards. But they send email reminders, so not really a risk of missing it.

Yep, if they charge right away, then just paying manually is the backup plan. I can set reminders, so won’t forget, but if I can set up Autopay, that is handy. I just like to know what they are going to do before I enter all the CCard info and hit next, I could see they might charge right then and there.
