For the OLD ages lol! We are on the road again just a month after celebrating ds21’s big day with a family trip. Now it’s dh’s turn. He turns 60 on the 12th. He has never had his bday off from work before now (seriously! In over 30 years!) so he booked a last minute getaway for us at ASS. He has a bday breakfast reservation at Chef Mickey’s but nothing else planned yet. I am glad the weather will be cooler, but I hate wearing pants at Disney.
60 in the World is magical ![]()
Amen! But I’ll have to wait two more years for my turn lol
Building 5, Center Court. Never stayed in this section before. Did get ground floor, upstairs peeps like to play chair shuffle.
Worth it, in my experience
We may have to rethink the whole “low crowds on party days” theory. I picked Monday for our MK day as it was a party day. We did manage to walk on to Snow White but that was just a typical rope drop. Crowds were thick and people were still pouring in when we called it quits after lunch!
This guy
One of the drawbacks to early park entry is that not much is actually open! I had wanted to check out the big store in Toon Town or whatever it’s called now, but it was over an hour from opening. So I took pics of the smelly elephants.
No Buzz, COP was down so we just ambled right through TomorrowLand. The usual equation of heat + joint pain= death has been keeping us from visiting Swiss Family Treehouse on previous trips, but the quickly dipping temps made it possible this time.
Our longest wait was for Jingle Cruise, about 30 minutes.
Pirates was a walk on. I kept an eye out for the water bottle I dropped in the water last month, but no luck. However, at the top of the escalator after the ride stood no other than Jack Sparrow himself! We scared each other and he took off before I got a good pic lol.
Lunch at Pinocchio. This cookie thing was so cute but hard as a rock!
Primo seating! That was a wrap for us at MK. It was getting thick with crowds, the temps were dropping, and people were still pouring in…I guess the party goers spend more of the day there now?
Hollywood Studios Day! This was a cold one folks. The cold front had made its way out and temps dipped into the 30’s and hovered at 50 most of the day. But let’s not forget the wind! It was pretty harsh and made it feel much cooler. But still, people were bundled up like it was Arendale after Elsa’s little fit! Puffer jackets and blankets and boots and hats over sweaters and hoodies.

We arrived early again and waited in the always fun line at the entrance. You know, the one where the line starts off manageable and orderly and then the guy in front of you starts waving and calling over his family of 15 with 3 strollers to get in line with him. SO VERY AGGRAVATING! Honestly, Disney World attracts some of the most entitled acting people and we just have to be good and keep our mouths shut. Sigh.
We made it in but MMRR started off down and stayed down all day. We walked on to TSM and Rise.
The Frozen Sing Along used to be a show that I had to drag dh into. Now he’s the one who just has to see it lol.
We lined up for the Little Mermaid but it filled up before we got in. Lunch Time! ABC Commissary buffalo chicken grilled cheese please.
I was really looking forward to seeing the new Villians show and it did not disappoint. Hook won “Most Misunderstood” but I thought Cruella should have…she had three costume changes!
Day 3 was dh’s actual bday! We had a reservation at Chef Mickey’s, one he has fond memories of. It was a good breakfast, lots of characters, but every crying kid in the bubble was there that morning lol. Topolino’s for me from now on.
Coolest welcome mat ever!
Took the monorail to Epcot. Thanked the Phoenicians, caught the Seas, Imagination and Soarin’ but TT was down and Remy closed still so we didn’t even bother doing WS.
We had driven our car to the Contemporary so we returned there and shopped and ate lunch at their food court. That patty melt was better than Whataburger! And homemade chips…yum. Plus they brought our food to our table.
