The one year update: we never took a spontaneous weekend trip (it’s on the bucket list thought).
We have plans to go in June of this year. My last day of work (teacher) is Thursday the 14th, I’ll be on a plane on the 15th. DH’s birthday is the 18th and he’s choosing to spend it at DHS. The TSL opening was not announced before we planned this and it isn’t enough to make us change our dates.
How exciting!! We’ll be at Disney for my sons’s birthday and he wants to spend it at DHS too

You are insane. And you should totally do it! I spent months planning the perfect trip, knowing we shouldn’t go back until DD3 is is tall enough to ride X, Y and Z. But I spent a lot of time talking myself out of trying to plan a trip just to stay on-site (no park days) in March for spring break!
