Yup. I was testing and it’s very curious how that happened.
Oh, that’s hilarious
Welcome to the party, pal.

If you have only letters and numbers in your TouringPlans.com username, your forum username should end up being the same. Otherwise, it will be slightly different on the forum. This behavior will not change.
You can change your username on TouringPlans.com and then logout/login to the forum to update it here.
And the appearance of ads should have nothing to do with what characters exist (or don’t) in your username.
Sorry…late seeing this. Yes, my name for changed without any logical explanation. I mean, there was a reason, but it didn’t make sense to me. But we got it squared away quickly enough.
Incidentally…I just got a pop up ad in my phone, even though I have logged out and backed in several times in the last several days.
Excellent gif!!
From my favorite Christmas movie
a Christmas movie!!
You’re fancy…I love that brand in the ad!

I find that I’m needing to log out, close the browser, and then log back in each and every time I visit the forum to get rid of the video pop up
Die Hard is for life, not just for Christmas.
It is interesting what some people consider a Christmas movie and not. Die Hard is a good example. Many swear by it being a Christmas movie, because it takes place at Christmastime. Same with Home Alone. But I’m more of the notion that, if I would watch the movie any time of year, and not generally just as Christmas, I’d not consider it a Christmas movie. So, Die Hard is an action movie that can be watched anytime…and therefore not a Christmas movie. (To be clear, I have no qualms with those who DO call it a Christmas movie…my point is how interesting it is to see how people categorize such things.)
There are some people who go so far as to call Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire a Christmas movie because it has the Yule Ball scene. That’s a stretch for me. In that case, Little Women is also a Christmas movie, etc.
It’s a Christmas Eve tradition for us, but I also watch it at other times of year.
The answer to the question “when to watch Die Hard?” Is YES.
FTFY
OK, now I’m getting annoyed. I’ve tried ignoring the popup ads but there is a series of 2-5 that pop up in the corner, one right after the other. They end for 20-30 seconds, then begin a new sequence.
I’ve logged out and in 3 times this morning.
Please don’t go (but I’d understand if you did). I’ve only gotten them on my phone so far and just a few times, but honestly if they get to the point they’re at for you I’ll have to walk away til it’s fixed.
That must be so frustrating.
Why is it such a different experience for everyone?
If I hadn’t tuned into this thread I would barely know a thing about it
