I know several years ago that if you bought a discount ticket from a 3rd party if you waited until after tapping in for the first day you could add a day and only pay the ticket window difference instead of losing the discount amount as well?
Does this still work?
I have a 4 day hopper from UT if I try to add a day now I have to pay the difference between a 4 and 5 day plus the amount that the 4 day was discounted.
I’m sorry I don’t know! My only experience with tickets at DL is direct from them. And the one time I have ever upgraded discount tickets was at WDW and I did have to bridge that whole gap of not just the discount but a price update, even though we’d used them.
Thanks. Maybe they caught on. UT will let me return the ticket and buy a 5 day but it’s only $10 cheaper than upgrading with Disney so not sure it’s worth the hassle
My upgrade fiasco at WDW was in 2016 so I don’t know if WDW just never had that loophole or what. But yea, I think for $10 I would also just go directly to Disney. However, the line at the booths can be long and you have to do it during park time so that’s another consideration.
I can upgrade it online. Was just curious if I could save by tapping in my first day. Probably not worth the hassle or risk there aren’t any park reservations.
This is what happens when you plan a trip a whole year out, booked DVC at 11 months for a fabulous 2 bedroom at the Disneyland Hotel Villas, and then all this stuff gets announced when it would be next to impossible to change dates with 5 people from 5 different families. Sigh.
I am going back in June or July to see all the new stuff. I am also going in October and December, but think the 70th stuff will be on hiatus until 2026 due to Halloween and Christmas in the parks.
She definitely should! I know a person or five who will gladly join her.
