Did you taste any key lime? Standard good joffrey’s to me, not a hint of lime

It was delicious, but no key lime.

Well, that did not go as planned at all. I spent Wednesday and part of Thursday in Celebration hospital with food poisoning. We made it home and dh is now suffering with it. We will recover and I’ll do a proper report then. Be safe all you liners who are currently ā€œhome.ā€

Ok, we are recovered and ready to talk about it lol. This will be a short report as we only made it through two days before, well, the event. Day one was MK and the Keys to the Kingdom Tour. Our time was 8:30. We got up and made the first bus by 7:00 so we had plenty of time to spare. We checked in at Town Hall, got our badges and listening devices and picked our lunch from options at Pecos Bills. Dh had burger, I had nachos.

It was lightly raining and the local weather station assured us it was passing so of course it started down pouring, lightning wind and all. The whole dang 5 hours. I don’t like hats, don’t look good in hats, but had to buy a hat or look like a drowned rat. Ha! I bought a Mickey hat and still looked like a drowned rat!

That’s it for pics, they don’t allow any on the tour, although most of it is outside but again, hurricane. So I will preface the tour details with this: we’ve been on a lot of tours and it’s really a crap shoot if they will be good, bad or ugly. Weather happens, animals are unpredictable, guides are human. The storm definitely put this tour in the bad category since we didn’t get to ride Jungle Cruise and spent most of the time seeking shelter. The tour starts on the porch of Town Hall with an introductory speech from the guide. Then we walked down Main Street and she talked about perspective, paint colors and the signs on the windows. Crossed the street to Adventureland, turned around and realized you can’t see the castle once you enter that land, and had our first break. Since we couldn’t ride the ride there was an hour of slow walking, taking shelter and listening to stuff about fake thatch roofing. Another break before heading backstage where the parade comes out to see some floats. This was the best part, even though there was no shelter. We got up close and personal with Maleficent as they were testing her before the parade that never happened that day. We saw where Tinkerbell lands and learned she has to be small but have strong arms. Break for lunch. They had an area of Pecos Bills set aside for us and the food all ready. The seats in there have no backs and we were all soaking wet and freezing. Next we walked across Frontierland for a lot of shelter seeking and yapping but did get to ride Haunted Mansion.

Picture is an accurate portrayal lol. Then finally we headed down into the Utilidors. Very interesting and that’s all I’ll say.

I’m glad we did the tour. It had interesting and fun parts. They call it a 5 hour walking tour, but it’s more like a 1 hour walking, 4 hour standing and listening tour. If you have any questions I’m more than happy to share my limited knowledge. Don’t worry, Day Two was Epcot and it was AWESOME.

Just catching up. Sooooo sorry about the rainy tour and the no good very bad ending to your trip. Surely not the anniversary celebration you anticipated. In sickness and in health, indeed! Hopefully there will be a few happy memories and a do-over (of the trip, not the marriage) in the not-too-distant future!

Epcot day! It really seems surreal looking back, but the day just went perfectly. We got to the food court right when it opened and enjoyed some eggs for breakfast, walked right on to the skyliner, stood in a minimal line for bag check and entry and practically walked on to Remy. I had noticed before that some of the rat cars seem to go a different route and sure enough ours did. It felt like a new ride!

As we made our way across WS to Frozen we completed our Spike map and enjoyed a wonderful cool breeze.

Walked right on to Frozen and got a front seat!

We made our way to, well, I only know it as Future World and started hitting rides, walking on to Figment, Soarin’ and the Land, The Seas and Spaceship Earth.

While we were in the Norway gift shop I spotted a collector book for the 100 year medallions. Like a true Disney freak I bought it and then asked, ā€œWhat are 100 year medallions?ā€ Thus began the search for these expensive but neat souvenirs. We got the ones in Epcot and made the impromptu decision to take the monorail to TTC and get the ones in the monorail resorts. We had a quick lunch at Captain Cook, the highlight being a Dole Whip float

We took the monorail back and enjoyed a lovely walk back to the IG for the skyliner to the resort. We stopped for PhotoPass pics along the way. I honestly can’t ever remember saying the walk from the front gate to the back of Epcot was lovely lol, but on this dry, sunny, cool breeze day it was.

And then we grabbed a quick ham sandwich from the food court to share for a light dinner and the rest is horrible history. :face_vomiting: :mask: :face_with_thermometer:

What a wonderful day! Can you just call this your anniversary celebration and erase the rest of the tape?
