Has anyone gone to AK or HS on the 4th? I see crowds were low last year and are predicted to be low this year. What was your experience like?

My family was in HS for 4th of July 2025 and it was great. We were there primarily to celebrate my daughters 21st and even with a 1/2 hearted attempt at a RD, we still got everything we wanted done and were back to our hotel by noon for pool and catnaps.

For some reason 4th of July has been slow the last few years. 
It might be because it’s so hot and people would rather not be around crowds on a holiday in the heat. But on the other hand, this year is the 250th anniversary of America so I would plan on it being at least a little more crowded than usual.

I’ve been twice on a 4th of July weekend in the last five years, and it was indeed pretty quiet. The actual CL were even lower than TP predictions last year if I remember correctly. I can’t say that the parks felt empty, but the wait times were pretty low and LL availability was good.
I think there are a number of people who prefer to avoid Florida in the summer, especially July and August. Our family doesn’t mind the heat (or the showers), so we think it’s a great time to go for lower crowds and summer deals!

I believe AK and HS are typically lower crowds than MK or EPCOT because of lack of themed fireworks. However, July 4 has been trending lower the last few years in all parks.
