We are a couple of energetic 60 year olds visiting WDW from the UK for the first time in 12 years. We have booked MNSSHP on Tuesday 10th September. Having never been to MNSSHP before we have no idea what to expect or what to plan to do. We will have all the following day in MK, including EETPH, so are happy to focus on the 10th on what’s unique to MNSSHP. All suggestions/guidance gratefully received.
Hi!
I asked about this Saturday and was given so much help:
ooooh - Thank you so much
There’s plenty of things to see at MNSSHP that only happen once the party starts.
There are 3 shows, a parade and special fireworks.
Haunted Mansion has actors in the queue. Space Mt is in total darkness, the tea cups play spooky music, there’s pirates in the Pirates of the Caribbean queue and more.
There are plenty of characters to meet - a lot of villians!
It’s not a “laid back” type of night as you’ll be walking all over the park.
I did it last year. Here’s my trip report where I reported “live” during the party. All the good & bad…
Thanks for the info about the queues! I’m trying to come up with a game plan. We don’t need to do all the rides but I want to make sure to hit the ones that do something different for the Halloween party!
Thank you darkmite2!!!
You definitely want to go to Haunted Mansion! The actors in the quote are so fun and will talk directly to you.
I thought Space Mt was pretty cool too!
The tea cups were “cute”, but not “must do”. They were a habitual walk on so that made it an easy choice.
I did enjoy meeting Capt. Jack, but no one was in the actors spot when I did PoC.
The parade is the best Disney parade!! If you can stay late the very last stage show of the night is always empty. You can walk right up to the stage. (It was the same case at MVMCP too)
DH will not do SM anymore. I only ride when we have others with us now.
We are going to nap mid day just so I can!
Thank you!
Haven’t been for a couple of years … Does the Headless Horseman still ride the parade route?
He was there last October.
Yes, if the pavement is not wet. Wet pavement is a slip hazard.
Re the queues to get into the park from 3pm onwards that Darkmite2 mentions, is this only for those with MNSSHP tickets only? I ask as we have multiple day park hopping tickets. If we arrive at 4pm from another park can we go in through the normal gates using those tickets or do we have to queue up with everyone that only has MNSSHP tickets for that night? (I hope this question makes sense)
There are gates set aside for party goers…but there are also gates open for normal ticket holders. When we were there for MVMCP in 2022, the party goers gates were to the right, and the regular gates were to the left. It can get insanely crowded outside the gates, so I recommend trying to get into the park as early as possible.
You will need to find the place to pick up your party wrist band once inside the park. There are usually a couple places to do it. Again, when we did it, we picked up our wrist bands for the party in Adventureland near Tortuga Tavern. Not sure if it is in the same spot.
The first party was last night, so as bloggers/vloggers get their stuff edited today, we should start getting stronger intel.
It’s tonight rather than last night, so another day until the info comes out.
Oops. Yes!
After 4pm you should be allowed to enter via any tapstile. The “holding pen” is an area to keep early RD people out of the way
I can confirm that what was Tortuga tavern (now Tortuga treasures) is being used for this, this year.
Thanks for all the advice. One more
One more question. If we are doing MNSSHP one night and then EETPH the next night at MK, does anyone have a view on which night has the shorter wait times for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and TRON?
