YC, BC or BWI?

I would precisely plan your itinerary before committing.

I was going to do a BW / AKL split but when I got down to it, it made no sense to move,

I was navigating Xmas party days and EETHP day at the start of my trip and the start of the EP holiday festival at the end of the trip such that I was going to be in EP or HS so frequently and not smushed together…
In EP on Saturday arrival day,
then in HS AM on Minday with a park hop to EP for EETPH
then in HS again on Thursday
And Then in EP again on Friday for the first day of the festival.

It made no sense to move to a non EP hotel and then hassle with busses back to EP or HS.

If you aren’t straddling the start or end of a festival, just make sure your EP hotel straddles the Monday EP EETPH night, and factor luminous and F! in that stretch.

and factor Poly for MK EETPH night (if it is indeed an MK night)

Once you lay it out, You might end up adjusting your days at each hotel, especially factoring you don’t want to be homeless on a non park day.

It is very easy and a very nice ride to take the Skyliner to HS from the IG. If you have never taken the skyliner, I highly recommend it. I believe that the fastest way to get from HS to EPCOT is walking, skyliner, then boat (depending on how quickly the boat arrives). The skyliner goes IG, Riviera station (no exit needed), CBR with a transfer, HS. The transfer is easy.

From Beach Club I take the skyliner to HS, from YC I.would most likely take the boat (YC/BC is the 2nd stop) and from BW I am most likely to walk, unless I am tired. Then I take the boat to Swalphin and walk from there.

Of the 3, I’ve only stayed at Beach Club. I 100% NOT recommend a king room if you go for BC. It’s an odd layout. No balcony/patio. Room is directly above the lobby.

I also didn’t care for the quick service options near BC/YC. I would end up walking into Epcot or over to the Boardwalk area for food.

I’ve done the 3-way split stay once before. One repack & relocate is plenty for me

Definitely things to think about, thanks.

I have a memory from our YC stay of going to HS by boat from Swolphin. Our YC wing was very near the bridge. I don’t recall where the Epcot to HS boat was when we walked out of the wing but it made us decide catching it at Swolphin was the smarter move.

One of our favorite surprises last trip was taking the bus from CSR to HS and the Skyliner to IG (we had just missed the Epcot bus and didn’t want to wait). World Showcase walkways were so peaceful before lunch. Note: It was a weekday in mid December, so I don’t know how well that translates to other times of the year.

The Skyliner transfer was not a big deal, but we were a little post rope drop.

Also note: it is very tempting to stop at Riviera for coffee, even if the plan is to go to Les Halles.

With regards to YC/BC, a couple of minor additions:

  • If you want a daybed (3 sleeping surfaces), that is not guaranteed at BC. In 2018, we were booked at BC and given a room at YC after we insisted very nicely (we were 2 adults / 2 kids over 3 / 1 2 year old).
  • YC is the first bus stop, which was nice for choice of seat (not vital).

I had really thought I’d prefer BC for the more casual environment (plus we had a discount deal), but YC ended up being my then DD7’s favorite.
