WWYD - Need Opinions!

Hi Everyone
Hoping to get some good ideas from everyone for an upcoming trip.
I got an “emergency” flash sale alert from DVC Reservations for three nights at the Riviera for $200 a night! I love the Riviera and could not pass this up. I am fortunate enough to be able to work from home so I thought, why not work from Disney!?

So, I am heading to WDW on Wednesday and leaving Saturday. I WILL be working during the day but hitting the parks after work. With the parks closing so early, I will only have a couple of hours in the park each day.

My Disney brain wants to do so many things but I know I will have to just pick one or two things in each park. This is where I need help!

Wednesday = Hollywood Studios, arrive around 5 pm, park close is 7 pm

Thursday = EPCOT, arrive around 5 pm, park close is 7 pm
I have a 6:50 Teppan Edo reservation (not sure I will keep it)

Friday = Magic Kingdom, arrive around 4 or 4:30, park close is 8 pm
I do have a CRT reservation at 7:50

So, if you only had a few hours in each park, what would be your “must-do” items?

Neat idea! Can’t wait for the report  I would soak up the atmosphere and just do my favorite rides… the ones I always do no matter when I go. Just my thoughts… since you asked

psssst… I’ve been thinking about this myself. I really want to know how it works out?

Tower of Terror, Star Tours, maybe RnRC and TSM. I think it would be a waste of time to try to do more headliners with the limited time. But I’d probably prioritize those.

Soarin’, for sure. Maybe SSE. Or perhaps focus on food booths?

I’d start in Tomorrowland, do Space and PeopleMover (doh! grrrr…), and then head around counter clockwise. HM, BTMRR, Pirates if possible.

OK first, where is your AK time?

That aside here are my personal must-dos for each:

  • HS: TSM and either RnR or ToT; stop in at either HBD lounge or Baseline Taphouse

  • EP: Soarin and SE; La Cava

  • MK: HM, Pirates, BTMRR

  • AK: Safari; Sacred Spaces

They close at 5 each day and I will be working until 4:30 or 5. I really wanted to hit Nomad Lounge but couldn’t figure out a way to :frowning:

Take your laptop with you???

oh… make an ADR as late as possible in a park and walk out in peace and enjoy the ambiance of the evening lit park

I did think about that too but wasn’t sure how strong the connection would be. I have conference calls almost all day Thursday. I also wasn’t sure about taking my laptop and extra monitor through security??
I may push my flight back Saturday to later and pop over to AK then.

can you ditch the extra monitor? on (edit) NON heavy conf. call days.

7:50 CRT on my MK day and 6:50 Teppan Edo on my EPCOT day. So far nothing available at HS but I have a reservation finder set. I love the parks at night so I am really looking forward to that!

Don’t remind me :frowning:

Is it possible to shift some of your workday to after park close to get more park time in? Work from 8-10pm instead of 3-5pm?

Sadly, I cannot. I have to be on during the day for the team I support.

My top three favorite rides in each park:
MK: Haunted Mansion, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Peter Pan’s Flight (I know I know, not Space or Splash Mountain…ha ha ha)
EPC: Spaceship Earth, Figment (so this may discount my opinion as I know how people feel) and strolling around World Showcase
DHS: Tower of Terror, Toy Story Mania and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster (I mean Rise of the Resistance is above this but it doesn’t sound like you can get a BG) and MMRR is also great imho

and you didn’t put it in there but I LOVE Animal Kingdom and again this is go against popular opinion but I’d go:
Flight of Passage, DINOSAUR and Kilimanjaro Safaris.

Bummer!

You pre-empted my shock. But you must not be alone. Several days back, I was playing around and looking at wait times. I couldn’t believe it when I saw that Figment had a 40 minute wait!!!

ha ha ha ha…it must have some childhood memory associated with it. I really love dark rides to be fair. and the more I age the more I prefer them to jerky roller coaster that shake my brain (which I loved as a kid) and I am a thrill seeker! I have done the third highest bungy jump in the world, sky-dived and scuba dived with thousands of sharks. But dark rides are my favorite so that probably makes me lean towards Figment. I forgot Frozen…I do really like Frozen (and I also really loved Maelstrom). I don’t like Soarin’ because since they changed it, it’s always distorted for me which drives me nuts that the Eiffel Tower and Taj Mahal are arcs.

I find the newer Soarin’ a terrible downgrade from the original…but it is still a fun experience…just have to make sure you end up in “B” to prevent the distortion. But truthfully, I wish they would bring back Soarin’ Over California.
