Would you feel safe?

Our car keys were stolen from our room at AK Jambo House. We figure that whoever took them tried to use the beeper to locate our car in the parking lot (we didn’t think necessarily to steal the car but rather take valuables from the car). However, our car was back at our home airport, we had just been making space in our backpack before heading to a park and left the keys on a side table in our room. It’s totally random and rare but things do happen, even in WDW. (FYI Disney was wonderful in responding to this situation and covered all expenses related to this mishap)

Disney World includes zones 61 and 60.

Auto burglary seems to be one of the more common crimes reported.

But none of those places are Disney World car parks. Which I assume are actively monitored. And you can’t even get to them without going through a manned gate or paying a parking fee.

I find spotcrime to be more helpful bc it maps out crime reports.
According to them, nothing much is happening inside the world besides verbal disturbances.
Some people are more inclined to be risk averse, and that’s fine, but I think perspective is very important here.

Not much, but they do exist. I’m sure there’s a lot more unreported. That said, definitely feel safer there than most other places with the same density of people.

Exactly, that’s about the best I can do with google, so that tells me it’s pretty safe.

@kerrilux_625778, it seems to me that the bottom line here is how much is your luggage going to be on your mind, if it’s residing in your van while you’re using your other luggage.

If it’s out of sight, out of mind, that’s a different scenario than if you’re going to be wondering about your stuff frequently.

When we’re at WDW, we’re pretty much in the bubble. I’d probably forget that I’ve got other luggage. :smirk:
