Would you? Could you? Now Live-ish

My friend has a conference in Orlando next month, I have an annual pass that’s good until June, my birthday is tomorrow. I’m looking at flying into Orlando on 5/6, staying at Pop to take advantage of the baggage check thing, and flying home 5/7. Our flight is at 8:15pm, so I’m thinking we should leave at 6pm. Would you attempt a 4P1D?

My tentative plan would be -
Rope drop Flight of Passage, Safari, hit Everest, breakfast at Yak & Yeti, cinnamon roll from Kusifiri, picture in front of tree, picture in front of castle, popcorn from Confectionary, Haunted Mansion, Seven Dwarves, People Mover, Guardians, Living with the Land, Remy, wine slushy/brioche ice cream sandwich, Toy Story Mania, SDD (if I can get it in a drop), Mickey pretzel, Tower of Terror, Sunset Blvd picture. Boom.

Sounds like a good plan!

To make it work I think you will need ILL for Mine train and Guardians.

Good luck and have fun!

Yes, I would get LLSP for Guardians and 7DMT. I’d get LLMP for Safari, Haunted Mansion, and Remy to start.

Would it be possible to do it trying to hit all forms of transportation? Or would that take too long?

Like bus to AK, Minnie Van to MK, boat to TTC, monorail to EP, skyliner to HS?

Or monorail from MK to EP, boat to HS, skyliner to Pop?

You don’t give yourself a whole lot of time. Really only until about 5:30ish. While I think doing a 4P1D challenge could be a lot of fun, I’d want a little more time!!!

Still…no harm in trying. Your plan feels a little overzealous. You might want to set times for when you have to abandon each park, even if you haven’t accomplished everything you intended.

That makes sense to do!

You’re no worse off for trying.

Yes, my friend and I agreed this was a good idea!

I haven’t made touring plans or anything yet to check the times, just a preliminary of our must dos and a few extras. Definitely open to adjustments as necessary.

Just want to make sure you know that you can only pre-book for one park. You can pre-book Safari, then immediately try for HM and Remy.

Go for it!

Dang, forgot about that!! Thank you!

This is a huge time suck…and definitely the most likely place for things to fall apart. I did it on my 4P1D, but I was RD to Close. You could try it, the transpo gods might be smiling on you - but it is also the first part of the plan you should abandon if you fall behind.

DD and I did 3 parks in one day. Bought LL for AK. Park opened at 8:00. Pre-booked Navi and Safari–both for 8:00-8:15. As soon as we tapped in for Navi just after 8:00, I immediately booked FEA (Remy was not available) and Soarin.

I took advantage of the 119 minute grace period and when Soarin expired, I booked Spaceship Earth. I kept one LL spot open and got Remy on a drop. Somewhere during the day, I picked up TBA on a drop and booked Big Thunder too.

We were meeting DD friend who was doing DCP that night at MK so our MK goals were only to meet her and ride TBA. We were going to MNSSHP the next day and were not real ambitious about booking LLs at MK.

With TSA precheck and personal item only, I’ve made it from resort to gate in an hour.

I did a 4P1D with all modes of transportation… and a whole lot of rides… but it was the whole day. 7am to 11pm. 6pm leaving the park would mean minimal rides at each park. Maybe better to skip one park to have more time at the others?

What time of day? I need to check with my friend to see if she has precheck, I don’t think she does.

Usually flights between 7:00PM to 10:00PM flights. Mostly Sunday nights but I’ve also had Wednesday, Thursday, and Monday night flights. Once even checking bags. We were dropped off at the SW curbside check in and had our bags checked in less than five minutes.

Made it in that time twice with friends who did not have precheck. We are usually at the gate more than 30 minutes prior to boarding, typically 45 minutes prior to boarding.

I say three parks is more realistic.

We did Navi, Safari, Lion King show, ate, and looked in the shops and didn’t leave AK until about noon. Got to Epcot by 1:00. Rode Remy, Soarin, Spaceship Earth, Guardians with ILL, hit several food booths for food and wine, and just missed the monorail as we got on the platform. We were at MK around 7-7:30.

Doing a bit of math, I think it is possible to do 4P1D. You have a total of about 9 hours (assuming from 8 am to 5 pm). Of course, you have to account for travel time. But if you are at AK for rope drop, travel time to AK doesn’t count. Still, about 2 hours in each park.

Some thoughts/ideas:

To get from AK to MK, other than Uber/Lyft/MinnieVan, you could take the Contemporary Resort bus from AK, and then walk over to MK from there. Still, probably one of the longer travel times…so I would give yourself 2 hours in AK max before you are at the bus stop.

Arrive to MK around 10:30 am with plans to be back to monorail station by 12:30 pm. Take monorail to EP (~ 30 minutes), and then heading out from the IG by 2:00 pm. Walking is fastest, but if you want to use transportation, this time of day, Skyliner would be pretty efficient as well. You should be into HS by 2:30.

This gives you about 2 hours to get something done at HS. At 4:30, head to Skyliner back to Pop.

She will have already checked her bags via resort check in at Pop. She can uber directly to MCO from the park.

How does that work? You have to pick up your bags from Bell Services, no?
