Would you buy LLMP for MK on a party day? Why or why not?

We are planning to be in MK on Thursday 1/30. It closes early (4:30) and has been a CL1 for the past 2 years on this day.

I’m debating if I should buy lightning lane ($29pp).

Would you buy LL in Magic kingdom on a party day? Why or why not? If you have experience with this, please share it!

I say skip it.

We did MK on a day when they were closing at 6 for a Wounded Warrior event. We had a quite enjoyable day

Per time stamps on photos we arrived around 11am. We enjoyed:
Dapper Dans
Buzz
Tron
Meet Pooh and Pals
Mickey Sandwich break
Dumbo
7D (I think this must have been by LL Single)
Tiki Room
FoF Parade (ON the rope, arriving about 5 mins before)
Jungle Cruise
Flag Retreat
Shopping
Liner Meet with @FelisLachesis

On the monorail to CR for dinner by 6pm

If we had arrived earlier we’d have done more, obviously, but with a bit more than 6hrs I was very happy with our day!

Just to be clear this was without LL (except probably 7D which was one of Luke’s only requests for the trip)

Thank you! This was similar to my experience 2 years ago. We bought it and it felt like a waste of money, but I’m worried I just got lucky that time.

I didn’t go during party season this year, but in 2022 and 2023 I bought G+ and ILL in MK on party days. I thought it was worth it because it reduced a few 30-40 minute waits to 5-10 minutes (and the wait for 7DMT by even more), but I could see how someone could experience a lot at MK on a party day without LLs. If I go on a party day this year, I will purchase LLMP and LLSP.

In fairness the Wounded Warrior event was a bit different than a party, and I do think around 4pm when the party people can come in but the day guests are still there it might get squishy. But to speak to THAT, I can say that in October 2023 we arrived at 4pm for a party and before the party started we enjoyed:

Meet Mickey
Castle pics
Dumbo
Under the Sea (? the ride with ariel in fantasyland)
Small World
Big Thunder

Maybe shave off one attraction to account for the park close/party start hour

I took this pic - per time stamp! - at 2:54pm

We technically were not on the rope at that point as we were hiding in the shade. We moved to the tape when the parade actually started.

This year WDW shaved that one off for you.

Well yeah, I just meant the number of attractions

Agreed! The lines will be more than manageable. LLMP may have you running around the park spending more time traveling then you’ll save. A good TP is all you need. And I typically buy LL or Genie. But not always. And you’re park day is the day I’d save the $$$.

I was at MK last year on MVMCP date. The queues are short until after 4pm.

@mkmuzzy was also there that day. I don’t think she had LLMP.

I did have LLMP access and did ALOT with it that day. However, I am a solo traveler. That makes it an easier expense than most people.

No, I did not. I, too, was solo. I felt I got a lot done in the time I was at MK that day. I had two days at MK. I arrived well before EE, and left about 3:30. I used the morning to knock out the more popular attractions, saving shows for afternoon or my second MK day which was not a party day. I admit I didn’t do Tron, SM, TBA, or Buzz this trip,
I did:
PPF
IASW
HM
JC
POTC
CB
met @darkmite2 by PPF
7DMT
BTMR (it had just opened, finally)
CHH snack - Gingerbread cake, so good!
took a break, browsed shops
LTT lunch w/ @jhab_andPixieDust
parade
LM
WtP
left MK

I figured you’d be the perfect person for this thread!

How long was the line for that character meet and great?

 assuming you meant meeting him as a character M&G.

I think this is an important point when making a decision in whether LLMP is “worth it”. Buying LLMP/LLSP will increase your odds of experiencing more in a day at MK. Some guests have a long list of “must dos” containing many high demand attractions while other guests are more flexible and ok with missing out on some of those attractions. Which category a guest falls into impacts the value of LLMP/LLSP to that guest.

You had a great day at MK without doing Tron, SM or TBA. If I was going to MK with just DW, then we would also have a great day at MK like that. But on a trip with my kids who highly value those rides, I’d rather pay for LLMP/LLSP, then risk missing out on Tron, SM and TBA (or spending 2-3 hours waiting in line for those 3 and missing out on other stuff).

It was almost a walk-on! Probably about 5 mins! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I was there at RD and went straight to Tomorrowland. I walked on to Space Mt., then went to Tron that had a posted 25 minute wait. It was less than 15 mins. (I then did Space Mt. again, because it was posted at 10 mins…actual 5 or less)

No LLMP access needed at RD

TBA was still VQ, so that actually “helped”. This was the longest wait of the day at about 20 minutes. I don’t know what it’l be like as standby

Thanks everyone! We decided not to get LLMP that day and will take our chances with the standby lines. This will be our second and final day at MK, so we will ride favorites (multiple rides on space?) and can be flexible with standby.

I appreciate the person that stated LLMP would have me zigging and zagging. That wasn’t something I had considered, and it does provide some relief knowing that I can just go with the flow.

Thanks everyone :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
