Which Water Park/56 Year Old Solo Trip

Heading for a last minute solo trip to WDW in a couple of weeks. I will get there on Wed 5/28 and am thinking about using my first day water park option. I am a 56 year old lady who may do a family slide but not anything too adventurous. I am all about a lazy river and wave pool though. I really just want to go because I have been to WDW many times and have never gone to a water park. I am fortunate that both parks are open on my arrival day. Any thoughts on which one would be best for my less adventurous plans?

Per Becky at TP

Typhoon Lagos is about the vibes
Blizzard Beach is about the rides

Typhoon Lagoon is chill girl summer
Blizzard Beach is … whatever the opposite is

In case you can’t get there using the link here’s a screenshot of her summary

I didn’t quite get the words right but the jist was there.

I’m 50 and am most looking forward to TL myself!

More shade it seems at Typhoon Lagoon

The slides aren’t long and thrilling, generally, which means your knees don’t get as rubbery climbing the stairs to the starts.

I was probably a couple years into 50 on my first water park visit. it. So much fun.

Couple things I learned - protect my feet :confounded:
I need the cushion of teva-like sandals which I’ve worn on several slides at TL. I’ve never done the BIG slides

I can’t do sun, so I wear long pants - stand up paddle board pants kind of things - and long sleeve rash guard tops. It might sound hot but I’m usually the chilliest person in the group because the technical fabrics are so good at evaporating moisture.

Please let us know how it goes. I’ve never been to a Disney water park, or any water park for that matter. I don’t like pools and I don’t even own a bathing suit. However, I have a dream to float down a lazy river at Disney. I don’t have the guts to do it by myself (because I lack basic pool/waterpark etiquette - is that a thing?) and I don’t know what to expect. I would love to know how it works out for you.

Oh, I just love lazy rivers. You need to meet up with some liners to take care of this bucket list item. If you’re in the world between 6/21 and 7/4, I’ll go with you!

Thank you! I needed the sandal reminder!!! My knees will be happier for a shorter climb to the slides!!!

Bunches of us would be happy to float with you!

See, @TheSafetyLady, you don’t need guts just a spare leg. Bunches of folk all attach and float together.

Water parks finally got wise and came up with better “inner tubes” so lazily floating is better than ever.
