I am planning on renting points to stay in a Studio at a DVC in December for 2 days prior to my Disney Cruise. There will not be any park days, as I am only there a day & a 1/2, so planning on spending time at Disney Springs and enjoying the resort. I’m leaning towards Copper Creek Villas, as the Wilderness Lodge is amazing during the holidays, plus I would be able to see the Electrical Water Parade, but am wondering if the Beach Club or another EPCOT/MK DVC would be better.
While I agree that WL is amazing during the holidays I think you will be extremely challenged to get a studio at CC or BR in December. Owners who have 11mos access have a hard time getting that accommodation.
That said, if you can get it I think that would be a fantastic way to spend a day and a half.
Although, you do mention going to DS and in that case a preferred studio at SSR would be wonderful. You’re so close from that area (Congress Park) that the QS locations at DS are closer to you than the QS location for SSR itself! There’s a lot to be enjoyed at the holidays at DS as well - aside from shopping there’s a lot of entertainment, the Christmas trees, and of course plenty of dining to enjoy - so that might be something to consider.
Finally, what about a studio in the Epcot area - BC or BW might be nice for access to plenty of festive decor, dining, and even watching the EP night show from the area.
As @OBNurseNH has said, Copper Creek will be almost impossible to get at this stage.
You don’t give your actual dates but the first week in December is the most popular week in the year for DVC, the second week in December is the third most popular week. That’s because the points charts are so low. And by “most popular” it means they book the quickest. Saratoga, Old Key West or Kidani are likely to be your best bets if your dates fall in those two weeks.
You were all absolutely right. The only resorts available for the couple of days I was looking for is either Saratoga Springs preferred studio or Riviera preferred deluxe studio
Was not planning on doing any parks as I’m there just a couple of days before I go on my Disney cruise. What I was looking to do is just relax at the resort, go to Disney Springs, then resort hop to a few of the resorts to take in their holiday decorations.
I would choose Saratoga Springs then. You can also take DS buses to other resorts. Or you can take the SS buses to MK and take the monorail and boats to see all of the MK resort decorations. They are some of the best.
