Where to Dine First Night @ WDW

Am wondering where to dine (solo adult) on my arrival day. Will be up exceptionally early for my flight, so thinking I might check in, go over to the Character Outlet & Disney Springs for lunch, then unpack and head to a restaurant for dinner. I arrive on a MNSSHP day & can always go to a park in the afternoon/evening, but will probably be tired early.

Was thinking of one of the following:

Trattoria
Cape May
The Boathouse
Chef Art’s
Steakhouse 71

Our food (well, the steaks) at Steakhouse 71 were almost inedible. I ate two bites of my NY Strip and that was it. I was refunded my meal. My wife’s filet mignon was slightly better, but dry and tough and she only ate maybe half of the 6 oz. So…I highly do NOT recommend. (Having said that…the SIDES were incredible, and the waitress was one of the best/nicest we’ve ever had.)

Chef Art’s is always a crowd pleaser. I haven’t been to the others, so can’t speak to them. So, my vote is for Homecomin’.

Homecomin so you can get the boat and no messing with buses.

At FQ, I’d head straight for the beignets…

Homecomin is a good choice for some actual sustenance

If you love sea food, Capy May’s is the place to go. Now if your staying at POF walk on over to POR and they have a great table service restaurant. Prime Rib was wonderful.

I vote Boathouse - always a wonderful meal and fantastic service. Plus you can watch the aquacars.

I greatly enjoyed a solo lunch here last December. Seated on the patio with a lovely water view.

I’m gonna go with Steakhouse 71. Delicious, affordable, and it’s at the Contemporary. If you time it right, you can watch MNSSHP fireworks!

Aww! :frowning: That is the complete opposite of the experience we had. I’m a big Steakhouse 71 fan. Woodrow goes for snacks at the bar on his days off, and Wesley and I are looking forward to a Steakhouse 71 meal in late November. Our meal there last October was practically magical, one of those “this saves this horrible day from complete disaster” kind of experiences.

We keep hearing people have nice things to say about it. We had high hopes. But for us, probably the worst steaks we have ever had anywhere.

Mama was born on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and could fix MD Crab Cakes to die for. The crab cakes at Steakhouse 71 were almost as good as Mama’s (of course nobody could outdo Mama).

I don’t think you would be disappointed.
