Yes, I’m booked on the 8 am Saturday flight to MCO. Staying at BWV. There is a very small chance I might cancel due to some home stuff going on, but trying to make it work. No siblings this time, but I could not resist the call of the early December trip. My DH is tagging along.
This is my third year in a row coming this weekend, and I am pretty hooked!
I am most definitely going this weekend next year. I love it too!
So many goals but we mostly just want to have fun.
Crashing at my dad‘s house in Nashville for the night. I came down to visit him (and my aunt who is in town.)
I ended up spending most of my evening in their attic getting out Christmas boxes and helping decorate. I only have a short 15 minute drive to the airport in the morning!
I’m tracking FlightAware and our plane is still at MCO right now. It is about an hour and a half delayed in taking off. As long as it arrives in Nashville before 5:30 in the morning, we are all good.
I booked this room on a bounceback either last December or January. It seems to be the place to be this weekend!
Is there something that makes this weekend extra special?
My sister and I arrive Saturday morning—she hasn’t been to WDW since the early aughts. We’re both looking forward to being in the bubble—away from work, the news and, in her case, our 94 yr old DF.
It looks like it’s on its way out of the airport right now. There’s a lot of rain between Orlando and Nashville, but it looks like no snow right now.
At least in the threads, the first 2 weeks in December is a popular time for liners (and DVC rentals). Obviously Christmas break is a busy time. But this time seems to be low key popular, lol
The first weekend one week after Thanksgiving, and the week leading up to it, have a lot going for them. It’s after the end of the long Thanksgiving holiday. All the parks and hotels are fully decorated for the holidays. Festival of the Holidays is in full swing at Epcot. As the dates get closer to Christmas, things get more expensive (resorts, tickets, parties) and the parks get busier.
I love it because all the decorations are up by now and the crowds are not too bad. I went in mid November and the resorts were not decorated yet. It seems like they don’t have all the decorations up until around Thanksgiving. And I enjoy festival of the holidays at Epcot.
I hope you guys have a great trip. It sounds like a well-deserved break!
Thanks @Enchantedbythemouse @drvillarejos and @mkmuzzy this confirms my experience in 2022, and it’s what we’re hoping for— manageable crowds, moderate weather, and holiday cheer! We’re both early risers and our plan is a mix of rope drop and mid day breaks, with several resort days between 12/6-12/15. It’s a long trip made possible by points and tips I learned in the lacava discussion group. Liners are the best!
I was thinking you should have been off the ground by now, and then I remembered you’re on central time, so you have about another hour before take off.
Safe trips everyone!
@FelisLachesis I rolled up right as our zone was called got boarding!
If I wasn’t at the gate when I typed my comment, I would’ve been a nervous wreck! ![]()
We have arrived! First goal for the day was to make it to our cake bake reservation! The boardwalk is gorgeous!
I hope you have a magic filled day! These are my favorite kinda days! I’ve done day trips from New Orleans with a group of 12 ladies in 2023, and 18 ladies in 2024. Sadly, we were unable to pull one off in 2025. I have a modified “day” trip planned for end of Jan 2026, but we decided on a small group this time and did onsite room night before and night of. We will do a four day park hop day.
Next stop…Disney Springs! ![]()
