Going on Dream on the Castaway/Nassau loop in late January and wondered what cruisers thought about temps? I know it can get nippy at port leaving Cape Canaveral at evening/night. Just wondering what to expect and how to pack. TIA!
We’ve done several January cruises out of Port Canaveral. All the days away from Port Canaveral were tropical temps, maybe highs about 83. It is extra windy on the ship when it’s sailing, due to the actual wind plus the speed of the ship, so it’s good to have a light jacket or sweatshirt along - especially at night or on cloudy/cooler days. I thought the ships usually set sail from Port Canaveral in the late afternoon, before it gets too cool? A couple times, the coldest temps were on the early morning of debarkation day, back in port at Port Canaveral, when Florida also had a cold snap, and temps were 28F or 30F at the port. Check the weather for your last morning, or just plan for very cool conditions.
