We love water parks. We want to take advantage of the free admission on arrival day and also do a separate water park day. With that being said, in order to avoid any confusion on taking the wrong ticket, would it make sense not to purchase the water park tickets until after arrival day? There is no issue in purchasing once we arrive, right?

There should be no issue in purchasing once you arrive. They may be cheaper if you pre-purchase. I think both parks will be open during summer for the free water park on check in day. If you did a split stay, I think you would get the free water park twice. But you would have to move rooms I believe.
