Unmissable Not-rides

Careful! Don’t out her as a fraud. We all believe she is Scottish so we want to continue believing it.

Not a dud - it’s entertaining enough and the songs are great. They added a little new animation that IMO is lower quality than the original so it brings it down a peg. Mostly I just prefer the more serious tone of Impressions de France, so I wish they would have more showtimes of it instead of BatB.

Except for a large stretch of time in summer and for a couple of weeks between each festival.

I agree with this. I’m guessing that they offer BatB throughout the day because they want to have more in the WS that kids can be interested in? But it makes it hard to find a time for the IdF show that works for when you are actually in the France pavilion.

I wasn’t as impressed with BatB as I am with Frozen Singalong. Frozen has rewatchability for me. BatB will be an every several years hit.

This one is so much better thanks to the live performers! BatB is like someone plops a VHS in and leaves the room.

I mean we did buy these.

I think it’s pretty terrible, and I love Beauty and the Beast. I sat through it on two different trips to make sure I wasn’t being hard on it. They only play parts of “Belle (Bonjour)”, “Gaston”, and “Be our Guest”, and pretty much cut out just as you are getting into the song. The plot is also inane, which I’ll blur in case you don’t want to be spoiled -

LeFou is secretly the hero who orchestrates all the key moments

This could have been amazing or just simply good, but they have somehow made it bad.

I actually slept through it!

That does sound absolutely terrible. Thanks for the heads up!

The Frozen Singalong in HS is the exact opposite
Fun, creative, engaging.

The Frozen singalong is our favorite show at Disney, aside from Happily Ever After.

Not sure this counts but we really enjoy walking the trails at Animal Kingdom and watching the animals. Basko the baby tiger is a highlight.

Did anyone suggest the Festival of Fantasy Parade yet? I don’t love standing out in the sun, but I love that parade. I can’t help but feel happy when I hear that music! Watching from the entrance of Hall of Presidents is a great spot.

Thanks for this!
Disney doesn’t have an calendar yet for our trip, but I’m certainly hoping they have it

And since we’re talking parades, I haven’t seen it yet, but I definitely would block out time to see the new Starlight (nighttime) parade.

Well I don’t know how old the other members of your family are, but for me (30 something)

Magic Kingdom: Town Square Theatre and Mickey’s PhilharMagic (honorable mention: Casey’s Corner, the Dapper Dans, and the Main Street Philharmonic)

EPCOT: the English (is there anything really indicative of Scotland or Wales?), French, Japanese, and Mexican pavilions. Honorable mention – Mickey & Friends meet & greet

Animal Kingdom: Festival of the Lion King, Finding Nemo–The Big Blue and Beyond, Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, and the Maharajah Jungle Trek. Honorable mentions – Awakenings (when they actually show it), Feathered Friends in Flight, and if you have little kids The Wilderness Explorers. The Animation Experience would be enjoyable if it didn’t take up so much time at the park that had the lowest operating hours – hopefully after the Launch Bay removal, it gets moved to DHS.

Hollywood Studios: Fantasmic is the perfect way to end a big trip. Beauty and the Beast has been going strong since the week after the movie premiered (and I suppose it’s mandatory to see For the First Time in Forever). Honorable mentions to the meet & greets at Red Carpet Dreams and the soon-to-be-gone Star Wars Launch Bay

Disney Springs: if there’s a band playing, park yourselves at the House of Blues’ outdoor stage. Order some drinks from the bar (or hell, get a to-go order from CityWorks next door) and just enjoy the atmosphere. Do you have any “rest days” scheduled? If you do, then the night before, play a game or two at Splitsville. Depending on your style, one or more body parts may be sore, so just spend the next day relaxing.

I haven’t read through the replies, so apologies if I’ve either duplicated suggestions, or my suggestions have already been discarded. M

In the parks:

DHS - Indy, Walt Disney Presents & the exhibition.

Epcot - an easy one! All the gardens, architecture of World Showcase.

And because I’m a fanatic, here they are:

Mexico - indoor market (this is as close as Epcot came to the vision of both indoor and outdoor presentations of the native cultures).

Norway - authentic Stave Church, buildings from 4 different towns of Norway

China - the Temple of Heaven, Reflections of China, the dragon carvings on the buildings

Germany - statue of St George, detail on the buildings, tapestry kinda depicting what should have been the river ride behind it

Plus the trains

Italy - reversed replica of St Mark’s Square (Venice), Triumphal Arch (Rome), Trevi Fountain, Gondola dock

America - show, exhibition, singers

Japan - gardens, pagoda, drummers, replica of the torii gate, palace and moat

Morocco - Fed house, replicas of the acropolis in Rabat, a Marrakesh mountain market and the Fez Medina gateway.

France - Impressions de France, perfume and chocolate shops, Ratatouille courtyard, the “banks of the Seine”. And Les Halles of course!

Cross the English Channel to the UK!

The 3 in 1 styled pub (seaside, country, town - from different sides), the English Gardens, the row of 16th, 17th, 18th & 19th century cottages, Christopher Robin’s bedroom, the facade of Hampton Court Palace (with only the restrooms inside lol), the red phone box

Canada - gardens, O Canada, totem poles

AK - Harambe, Pandora, trails, Tree of Life

MK - wishing well, animal carvings in Adventureland,

Outside the parks - Ye Ha Bob @ Riverside, Jazz @ FQ, stables @ FW,

Boat rides around Bay Lake, and from Epcot to DHS, Skyliner

Resort hopping esp WL and AKL (art collection, cultural reps, animals)

As an American (of Scottish descent) who took my 14 yo to Culloden Battlefield last spring, without really knowing anything about the history of the Jacobites, I can tell you that we all learned and enjoyed our experience there. Similarly, the American Adventure is even easier to digest than that, and I expect your party would derive some entertainment regardless of their knowledge of American history. Maybe offer a quick primer on who Mark Twain is, if they don’t know. That’s all you need!

And two of my favorite things in all of WDW are Voices of Liberty and Frozen Sing Along. So I’m happy that those appear to be well recommended in this thread!
