My son graduates this year and we are planning a trip to California from Canada. We are going to Universal first. What would be the best airport to fly in to and is there a shuttle we could use? Also, I am looking for accommodation near there as well.
Hi! You posted this in the Universal “Orlando” thread, but seems like you are going to Hollywood. I’m going to assume this is the case. If you need help with Orlando, please, let me know & I’ll add that info as well!
If you are going to Universal Studio Hollywood you’ll land in Los Angeles at LAX.
Airport shuttles are available, however they are not “Universal” shuttles. They are independently operated. They tend to be far more expense than a ride share, like Uber or Lyft.
Universal doesn’t own any hotels in Hollywood either. There are two hotels close by, The Hilton and The Loews Hollywood, but they’re very expense. (As are most things in California! 
)
There really isn’t a “bubble” out in Hollywood as there are in Orlando theme parks.
IMHO - You’ll get the best rates going through a travel site like Expedia or Kayak. USH is more of a “locals” park than a tourist destination like Orlando

Or Burbank, it’s my first choice if going to that part of LA. Much smaller airport.

I presumed they’d have to come in through LAX if coming from Canada. Is Burbank an international airport? I thought it was only domestic…

A detail I apparently missed. Sorry! Burbank is not international, so LAX it is.
