I gotta dive into hotel research at some point too.

If you’re not big on rides and the need for Express Pass, Sapphire Falls is the best. It’s gorgeous and has the biggest pool of all the resorts. Plus, it’s connected to the Water Taxi route.

That one does look nice.

The Hard Rock is still owned by the Seminoles. I don’t know off the top of my head who operates it as it’s the hotel/International side of the business.

Both the cafes and the casinos (worldwide) use our software.

Unless that’s one of the hotels that sold when HR International offices moved down to South Florida.

Ah good catch. I guess Loews Hotels and Co. just operates/manages it then.

Nope, you were right after all!

I could have sworn International owned it when I was preggo (they arranged a tour of the Hard Rock CafĂ© memorabilia when I was pregnant and couldn’t enjoy the park).

Lowes must have bought it when they moved the offices after all.

In December 2000, Hard Rock Hotel opened as Universal Orlando’s second onsite hotel. Despite its name, the hotel is owned by Loews Hotels, like Loews Portofino Bay Hotel and is not affiliated with Hard Rock International.

Ah, I guess it’s just the Hard Rock CafĂ© that the Seminole Tribe owns.

In that location, yes. But they still own the HR brand, and lots of other locations. For this Universal one I think they lease back the name.

Oh! I really thought it was permanently gone!

It pays for itself on the third soda each day. Plus, you can fill it with slushes too!

I have found most of them to be pretty water tight, as long as you snap the lid down really well. I keep mine inside a gallon size Ziplock bag and then keep it in my sling bag. They rarely leak, but if they do it’s inside the Ziplock bag!

There’s even a third cup for Volcano Bay! It’s so frustrating for me! I’d gladly pay the equivalent or slightly more for a “works anywhere” cup!

I will say the hotel cups are $20 for “length of stay”. I can get 10 days of soda for that flat rate!

I’m all caught up now!

Me too!!

Yeah
it seems like such a waste that they don’t allow you to activate your resort mug for each in-park day at a daily park add-on price.

Report from a TM the other day saying that the Cafe will open before Minion Blast.

Still thinking July for the CafĂ© and August for the ride. But we’ll see. Glad to be pleasantly surprised.

July hours are out. 9am-9pm every day at both parks, which is a continuation from the last week of June.

So far, I’m only seeing EPA at IOA.

I got a new Universal Survey and saw this question. A Hybrid 3-D coaster??!!???

Wouldn’t that be like Gringott’s?

Yes!! Thanks for reminding me! I forget it’s a 3-D ride! (for now
