Universal Addict celebrates his 50th B-day at WDW?!?

I’m 100% planning on Gideon’s. I really “need” to judge it for myself. Here’s hoping there isn’t a crazy line!

Everyone raves about Polite Pig. I live in Memphis, TN. We are a BBQ town. We host the annual “World Championship BBQ” contest. I’m such a BBQ snob. It’s why I avoid BBQ when travelling unless it’s something unique to me like Carolina mustard / vinegar BBQ or Alabama white BBQ.

I will be open minded when I go though!

With me realizing that my eyes are bigger than my stomach I may have to rethink if I want to go to Ragland Road…

I picked RR because it should have entertainment / live music while I’m there. Plus, it gives me a reservation where if I need to rest I could…

I’m happy that these are my “big concerns”. It means my life isn’t so bad afterall!

In my opinion, Raglan Road is someplace I don’t have to rethink. I always go there. It’s always a highlight of my trip.

It’s a la carte, right? So couldn’t you go for just an appetizer for half an hour?

There is also bar seating at Rsglan.

That’s what everyone says!

It is! I’ve been looking at the menu and thought about Shepard’s Pie - which is meal / entree portion. There are a couple of appetizers that look pretty good though!

At Polite Pig everything seems “sharable” size! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: :shark: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

There is a Slider Trio app that might be good and give me notion if the BBQ here is worth the fanfare…

@PrincipalTinker - You are probably the #1 reason I picked Ragland Road! I’ve seen you say such wonderful things about it for so many years!

I really don’t like sitting at a bar as IMHO you get ignored because bartenders are doing so many things that serving a meal is an afterthought. Often bartenders act like eating at their bar is inconvenient for them…

Since you’re my RR expert… What should I get? Apps or Entree?

The “When Ireland Dates America” app looks great and the “Dalkey Duo” seems like it might not be too huge of a portion that I could enjoy and continue my night of sampling??? Or is the Shepard’s Pie as good as it looks?? :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

If you haven’t, I would make an ADR through open table and request stage view seating!

I don’t think you can go wrong with Raglan. If you are stopping at other places, I would go with the apps. You have picked great choices there. My son insists on the wings too. I am an entree person because I am always shocked by the flavors in their food. I eat at a lot of signature restaurants and often I will say at loud at Raglan, “this is the best thing I have eaten this trip”. Surprising dishes for us have included the chicken pie, braised beef, salmon and shepherd pie. The fish and chips is always amazing too/ you can’t go wrong!

I do have a 6:30pm ADR! :tada: :tada:

I did go back into the ADR and add in the seating request!! Thanks for letting me know!

You’re making it soooo hard to decide!!

I do think, for the sake of my stomach, I’m going to have to narrow it down to

Gideon’s / one savory app / entree / Cake Bake…

I read that Gideon’s cookies will last for 3 days in air tight containers. I may bring one in my luggage and eat it on the flight home!

I might squeeze a cocktail in there, if I’m “killing time” at any point while waiting to go to The Boardwalk. I do like the drink menu at Jock Lindsey’s. I have been to Abracadabar and wasn’t impressed. The drink was good, but really bad service!

That threw me the first time you used that phrase. Then I realized you meant Jock Lindsey’s.

Yes, absolutely this. I’ve never had anything there I didn’t like.

OMG! I had to look it up. I can’t believe they spell it that way!

This is what I think of when I spell “jock” …  :shark: :shark:

I’ll go back and correct! Thanks!  :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

This was the “tamest” of all the images I debated posting! The others had models wearing them!!  :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: :shark: :shark:

Jock as part of Jock Lindsey’s name meant, to me, more in line with jockey. An airplane jockey, with jock as a nickname for jockey.

I know he’s from Indiana Jones. According to his wiki fan page, it’s supposed to be his actual name not a nickname… :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

One year I had TWO students names Jock. I don’t know what was in the water that year.

I decided to check for HDD one more time… I got one for the exact time I needed!

So I’m going here instead of DS! Maybe I can find time for Gideon’s one day!

It’s in the balcony area - which is not my first choice, but better than nothing!

Has anyone sat in this area before? I really want to make sure I can see the show and have a fun time.

I don’t think you will have any issue seeing the show and some of the performers will be up in the balcony at times.

I was in the balcony when I went in June. Loved the location. Would choose it again.

Maybe when you check in you can ask if a seat has become available on the floor.
