I feel the same!
I don’t mind going to EPCOT because I am going there for Liner meets and GotG. Plus, there’s so few “rides” there that I don’t need a plan. I’ll buy a LLSP for GotG and enjoy hanging out with people

You’re clearly very energetic and enthusiastic as a park goer, but my thought when hearing potential plans was that trying to do a lot of park-hopping might be harder than usual, since you’re still recovering from injury, unless perhaps at UOR!
I may have come to a decision… I’m looking for advice…
I found a room at the Best Western that is, literally, next to Endless Summer - Dockside for the same price as the other off-site hotel I already booked…
It’s only a 4 - 5 minute walk to the Endless Summer - Dockside bus stop! This means I won’t have to take an Uber to get back & forth to the CityWalk garage. It saves at least $20 - $40 a day. ($10 per trip to & from the hotel)
Most importantly it makes taking a midday break realistic along with free rides at EPA and the end of the night!
This is something I can’t do at WDW unless I pay $20 each way every trip…
It seems like a “budget” hotel, but the reviews are “OK”. I just need a place to sleep this time - not a resort.
This means I’m leaning towards doing Universal with the single EPCOT day.
My park days are shorter - UOR closes at 7pm while WDW closes at 9pm. However, my ease of access getting to a theme park is way better. Plus, no planning or LLMP needed
I was, genuinely, excited to try a full WDW park hopping day once again. I won’t say it’s 100% out of the question though - yet.
I am going to take @ParkRanger 's advice to call WDW to see if I can get a solo MVMCP ticket. If they will sell me a ticket then my trip goes back to being all WDW - (arrive on Thurs. & go to party / Friday = EPCOT & Liners / Sat. - depart.)
I know you’re leaning away from Disney overall and may be snarking due to snarkimals, but just in case Priceline has CSR (not ExpressDeal) for less than that, and Disney direct has All Stars (and Pop Century if you go back to 12/4-12/7).
Awesome! I tried Expedia and other sites, but only got off-site choices.
Is “Disney Direct” a service or are you saying go to the Disney’s webpage and book “directly” with Disney. I’ve looked at the Disney website so many times and altered my days trying to get anything at all. Most everything comes up as sold out.
Coronado Springs is the only “affordable” hotel at $300 / night. That’s not something I want to pay when all I need is a place to put my bags and crash for two nights. I don’t plan on hanging out at a resort enjoying the amenities, so paying $1000+ for a room for 3 nights is more than I can justify
My plans are so up in the air today. I feel bad dragging on about it!
My DW wants me to go to WDW since I was excited for it. Also, per your suggestion in our DM, a fellow Liner has offered to hang out while I’m there and do all my planning! I love this community!!
I’m weighing my options for sure!
This is what I meant.
12/5-12/7, I see All Star Sports. 12/4-12/7, I see All Star Sports (cheaper rate) and Pop. Looking at your screenshot, you may need to click off the Save on Rooms discount?
12/4-12/7:
12/5-12/7:
Somehow I am not surprised.
I wonder why I get “not available” no matter the dates I try…
I’m so spoiled by the hotel rates at Universal. The most expensive premire hotels that include Express Pass are around only a $100 more night than these rates for Disney value hotels…
Have you tried putting in 2 people? Not WDW, but I was (briefly) looking at Good Neighbor Hotel packages at Disneyland for Thanksgiving for me and my daughter. When she decided she didn’t want to do it, I searched for 1 person and nothing came up. Plenty of options when searching for 2.
I have only ever stayed at the Endless Summer resorts. I don’t like the rooms/beds as much as Pop or even All Stars, but agree the price cannot be beat!
Have you tried browser vs app, incognito window / not logged in vs logged in?
I tried to find the setting for only showing rooms with discounts and didn’t find it on first glance, but I believe others have mentioned that as an issue.
These are really high prices for All Stars. I wouldn’t really want to go over like $150/night for them normally, but inventory seems tight.
No… That’s a good idea!
I don’t like the beds at any hotel!!
IME - Every hotel bed everywhere is as hard as a rock and has paper thin pillows! I usually bring my own pillow from home!
I’m only using browser. I will try adjusting the settings…
Agreed! I’ve stayed at multiple All-Stars in the past. $150 is my usual “top rate” I’ll pay for them. Plus, I HATE the buses that go to those hotels. The fill up fast and may not even stop for you if you are at the second or third stop on their route in the morning. (I’ve had that happen a couple times!! I used to rent a car until WDW started charging for parking)
I’m most likely going to stay off-site. I have a room booked already at a Holiday Inn not too far away.
If I do go 100% WDW for this trip, I’d be inclined to see if a hotel near Disney Springs is available. I’m still considering going there for dinner on arrival…
Looking for suggestions…
Where would you go at WDW or Orlando on your arrival evening / night if you were solo??
Budget isn’t an issue, but I’m not looking to spend the amount I would need to go to V&A!!
I won’t have a car. I can take multiple Uber rides, but that’s not fun…
I think I’d like to go to Gideon’s to see if all the hype is real, but it’s not “must-do”.
I don’t drink very much, but do willing to have one or two cocktails if they’re popular / good.
I like the idea of riding the monorail and skyliner too. I still have never been on the skyliner.
The previous suggestions of the Christmas Tree scavenger hunt and / or the gingerbread houses at resorts could be fun! (Of these two I think I’d prefer the resorts. I haven’t been to all of them as my family is typically with me at WDW in the past)
I have no plans or any place to be. I can stay out late and go ANYWHERE in Orlando.
(I admit that I am considering going to my favorite eatery at UOR - Mama Della’s and then CityWalk too.)
Oh, you should try the beds at Pop! I think they’re so comfy and the pillows are nice too! Nicer than the beds at Disneyland Hotel, for sure.
You know they’re back to free parking for resort guests, right?
That’s good! It won’t change my plans for this trip, but if I ever stay at WDW for a longer trip I will consider getting a car again…
Do the parks charge for parking for resort guests??
No.
In case any of these resonate…
Monorail crawl - Narcoosee’s (can do the lounge with full menu, I believe) + fireworks and electrical water pageant
Skyliner / Crescent Lake crawl - Topolino’s for dinner and Epcot hotel crawl and fireworks (from the terrace?). Not sure about the Topolino’s lounge menu offhand (not on our current plans).
If I go to Disney Springs, I would probably do a quick service crawl (Basket, Polite Pig, Pepe, Cooke’s of Dublin?, Salt & Straw, Amorette’s, Gideon’s depending on timing, maybe Summer House cookies if not fully over sugared?) - depends on what you prefer for birthday. Obviously there are a lot of options here. Not really fireworks though? Could possibly take a boat to a resort if interested.
Bonus: AKL for Jiko! But more isolated.
Bull and Bear intrigues me but not my wallet.
I like the idea of a progressive dinner! I was watching vlogs last night and this was a suggestion I saw then too. That way I’m not “locked” into one place.
Also, I’m a fan of going to places that vlogs rave about and seeing if it’s really true.
I spent a year doing this at Universal and figured out real quick which vloggers are shills / complimenting everything hoping to get on a media list.
Right now I’ve narrowed it down to either DS or CityWalk. I would say it’s 70% probable I’m going to DS and 30% to CW. I like the appeal of doing more “new to me” things
On this night I feel like I want to be more engaged. I could go to Splitsville, but I’m not a bowling fan. I wish they had mini-golf or something! The scavenger hunt sounds OK to do while bouncing around QS locations trying food / drinks. I could go see a movie?? Mona 2 would be out by then…
The appeal of CityWalk is that it has escape rooms, mini-golf, and karaoke and one of my favorite restaurants is close by.
I said it before, but I sincerely wish The Void was still at DS. This night wouldn’t even be a debate. I’d go do all those rooms. I was blown away by the Star Wars Void when we did it in 2018.
I thought about going to both DS and the Boardwalk as well… Jellyrolls is over there and maybe I could catch a skyliner ride before the parks close?? There’s just not much to do there except have cocktails
I do have a big day planned the next morning and don’t want to be hungover.
I don’t have any interest in watching these from afar. I adore fireworks up close! The water pageant is fun when you are on the ferry and tired after along day, but I have seen a bunch of times.
I don’t think a solo hotel crawl is for me this time. It sounds fun, but it’s the kind of activity I like to do when I’m there for a week or more when I want a leisurely night.
Due to my injury I haven’t been able to do much at home for 3+ months. I go to work all day / week then go home to recover and spend the weekends in bed. I really want to “do something” when I’m in Orlando other than passively strolling / window shopping…
This makes sense! And selfishly, you may try stuff that I’m wondering about and give me good data.
Have you seen Drawn to Life? (I have not…still mourning La Nouba )
Riviera also has an art scavenger hunt if that’s at all interesting combined with Skyliner.
I was wondering if the skyliner runs after Epcot closes so that people can get to the Boardwalk? Maybe not, but it feels like it should (get on that, Disney )…
If you’re interested in JellyRolls, might be a good time to check it out in case it actually is going to close.
There’s a mini light show between Swan and Dolphin, but I have been told it’s nice but not a destination.
There is mini golf near the Swan, right? I haven’t done any of the Disney golf.
Boat from DS to Port Orleans and get a carriage ride (beignets, not sure if Yeeha Bob is interesting to you) is a completely different option, but may fall under resort crawl versus things to do.
Maybe make a Shenkel list for different options and see if the new stuff is enough / actually interesting?
As a matter of fact, I’ve been looking into it all morning! There are still tickets to the 8pm show…
Yeah… I’ve heard that it might be going away. CityWalk has a piano bar at Pat O’Brien’s that I love.
I didn’t know who he was until now. I just watched a YT of his show. this is exactly the kind of thing I love.
Would I HAVE to take a carriage?? I was a carriage driver for a year in 1998. It was an extremely lucrative all-cash job. I was 23 and making about $1000 - $2000 in cash every week.
However, that job made me HATE horses. They are not majestic creatures!!
They are jerks! I witnessed one actually bite another drivers nose almost completely off once! It was horrific!!
This is what I’m doing this morning. I think I need to just make a checklist and see which venue (DS / CW) has more that I want to do and how many things are new adventures!
