Under budget creates opportunity....PLEASE HELP!

Anyone know if world showcase in closed between Norway and France during the after hours event? We had planned to go from Frozen to Remys but that path was closed and had to walk all the way around the front during extended hours. We were just kind of done at that point ( we had backtracked a LOT at MK earlier in the day due to rain).

The difference in walking distance between Norway and France going one way versus the other is negligible. Almost identical. It might not seem like it when you are tired, though. So, if the path is closed, you really aren’t going any further to go the other way. (According to Google Maps, the walking distances is 10 minutes versus 11, so very close). The 11 minutes is actually the route that would have been closed, believe it or not! So, technically, it is faster to go the other way.

True! It’s about 100 yards shorter to go the other way. :exploding_head:

We always go around the front to get between Norway and France because I’ve always thought it was faster. In fact, my kids have been to Epcot 10-15 times and have never seen World Showcase between Norway and France!

OK, I stand corrected. I’m kind of surprised at that though!! Anyways, around the front brought us past the International Gateway exit so we just left then. I walked about 12 miles that day in total by the time I made it back to the Swan!

Thank you to everyone who has contributed, as ever I learn a bit more everyday! Now I am really disappointed I am late the party about Wild Africa Trek, it sounds an awesome experience and one we are needing to get on another trip. We will keep looking out for late cancellations for this trip as it seems very much worth it..

What we have decided to do is the After Hours at Epcot and because we got a good deal on that we are also booked in to a Dessert Party.

This leads me on to requesting further help trying to plan Epcot…we intend to do a nearly full day this Sunday. We have a stacked first week so did not want to have an early start (so no rope drop) and we want some flexibility to head over to MK at some point to do the Dessert Party….we will then head back to Epcot on our full AK day to watch the fireworks and then we have the After Hours event on our last Thursday….

So the question is how to set our “near full” Epcot day up….with us not rope dropping and wanting to be out the park for at least 7pm if not earlier (we intend to start the day at 10/10:30am) what is the best strategy. We want to do most if not all World Showcase, Moana and anything else that we will not likely want to do in After Hours. Touring plans suggest this might be a struggle, and it feels like we are best getting LLMP and planning 3-4 rides alongside WS. Does anyone have any solid tips for what strategy to follow considering our plans over the two weeks (see summary below)

Sunday 29th March : Epcot start @ 10/10:30 leave 6-7pm (head to MK Dessert Party)

Sunday 5th April: Animal Kingdom, park hop to Epcot approx 6-7pm to watch fireworks

Thursday 9th April: Epcot: arrive 7pm, after Hours through to midnight.

Any and all suggestions would be welcomed to ensure we do everything Epcot has to offer.

Once again, thank you all!

Sunset is 7:45ish. Park close is 9. F&G booths open 11-9 on Sun, 11:30-8:30 on Thurs.

Slightly out of date yet still useful:

Not open after 9pm:

  • Imagination? (I’m not sure, but it’s not on the official highlights list)
  • Shows / movies
  • Character meets
  • DuckTales
  • World Showcase shopping, Kidcots, etc

I specifically recommend after dark:

  • JoW (Moana)
  • Spaceship Earth light show (in the central garden, assuming it’s working again)

Consider single rider, especially for Test Track (I read it can get uncomfortable for Remy’s?).

So if you want to do the whole World Showcase, I would consider entering at IG. I’m assuming you’re driving since you’re off-site? You can park at HS and Skyliner over (alternatively, you could maybe do a breakfast reservation, but I’ve not stayed past the 3 hours in the hotel lots - or you could Lyft to a Crescent Lake resort). We did bus to HS and Skyliner to Epcot and it was great.

Then you can browse / Kidcot / DuckTales / topiaries / watch shows (I love Matsuriza) until the food booths and other shows open (my favorites are American Adventure and Voices of Liberty). Les Halles also is right there.

You would probably save Remy and FEA for After Hours, unless you don’t want to have to trek to Remy’s, in which case do that one of the other days. And you could probably save UK / Canada for the evening before fireworks.

So for the day, you would do WS counter clockwise, possibly backtracking a bit for show and food booth timing), leave through main entrance via monorail. You might be able to fit in GotG on LLSP or something else on that side of the park depending on waits on your way out.

If you do not have a hotel or restaurant reservation, they will not allow Lyft or Uber to drop you off at the crescent lakes resorts, except Swan or Dolphin.

Fair, either way you’d need like an Ale & Compass or Cape May reservation - or Swan / Dolphin isn’t bad.

We did the Swan/Dolphin drop off when we stayed off site and it worked great.
