Uber and a baby

Any suggestions on getting from a resort back to resort with a baby? Uber or taxi? How do you know if uber car can even handle a baby? There would be 2 adults, 1 child, 1 baby.

Following because I have been wondering how Uber & car seats works in the area.

Legally you don’t seem to need a car seat for your kids when taking a taxi, uber, or bus. See here for the law: http://flsenate.gov/laws/statutes/2014/316.613. But I’m not a lawyer.

Uber does have an option for “black car + car seat” in my area (Virginia), but not sure about Florida.

Personally, I think you’re fine to just hold your kids. Generations have done it that way, and your parents probably did the same.

I’ve never used a carseat when in a taxi or uber. Keep in mind that an Uber IS a taxi - just a specific company name and you have some control over the kind/size of car that picks you up.

Thanks for the replies. We’ll be travelling with a 6 and 2 year old and I wanted to use Uber on an upcoming trip. I wasn’t sure if we would be refused service if we didn’t have car seats.

Thanks for the info. I was curious to see if more Uber cars had car seats since they were at WDW, which generally has more children. I’ve taken taxi’s with booster seats before, but I had to make a request. I wasn’t sure how Uber worked if a request was even possible.

I saw this today http://www.wdwmagic.com/resorts/walt-disney-world-resorts-information/news/30jan2016-uber-with-car-seats-coming-soon-to-orlando.htm

Cool! Thanks for info!

Very cool, thanks for sharing this! My DH has used Uber in different cities for travel so we have been excited to try this as an option for getting to ADRs., car seats are even more of a plus!
