My family is planning on going to Magic Kingdom on our check out day. We will have a rental car and will be staying off site for the remainder of our trip. I was wondering what time I should plan on getting to the TTC in the morning in order to make it to the entrance for EE beginning at 8:30 am. I know we will need to take the ferry or monorail before entering but not sure how long that process is going to take.
Another option would be to leave the car at the resort and take the bus to the park. If we do that then we would need to get the bus back to the resort and then check in to the next hotel.
We are planning on being at MK from park open to close.
I would definitely drive to the TTC so you don’t have to take the bus back to your car at the end of the day. The ferry and monorails are pretty efficient. We like the ferry. I think you’d be fine arriving at the TTC at 7:30.
I think it is six to one, half dozen to the other.
You can argue for either, and in the end, probably comes out roughly the same.
Unexpected things can happen. We were there once trying to take the monorail back to the TTC and to our car when there was an issue with the monorail. It stopped about 10 ft short of where it should have been. We were literally next to board, but we ended up waiting there about an hour before they got it fixed.
I say that merely to point out that even when you THINK you plan for all scenarios, unexpected things can happen.
The buses are efficient, and saves you the time it takes to use the ferry and monorail to get back to your car…but then you have to drive between resorts. Driving to the MK saves you that time, but you have to deal with the monorail/ferry.
I agree with this. The reason I suggested taking the bus in the morning to avoid the TTC is because it eliminates steps that could potentially throw wrench into rope drop plans. That would stress me out. However, others may get stressed if you have a monorail issue like you did at the end of a long day when you’re tired and just want to go to bed. For me, that’s less of a concern because it doesn’t have the potential to throw off the rest of your day.
