Hi all! We have a tron LL but want to ensure we get to ride it twice. We have early entry and crowds are a level 5 when we go tomorrow. What approach is best to be able to ride it twice?
I would not use EE because it is not open during EE (unless procedure has changed recently that I’m not aware of). You would burn the entire EE waiting in line.
Instead I would ride with LLSP and then hop in line at the end of the night.
The other option if it is truly a priority is just to stick out the standby line at some point. It will most likely be an hour most times of the day.
I agree with this plan.
It depends on crowd levels, but back in march we did standby about an hour after park open (I think around 9:30 am that day), and we waited around 35 minutes. We also rode with LLSP that same night around 9:30 pm, and we waited about that long, if not a little longer. So I’d suggest trying to catch the lull after the people who try to ride Tron first at opening.
Tron is better at night, and closing down the park with it is worth the wait, in my opinion.
Personally I recommend using your LLSP after you ride it using standby. Why? We did it the opposite, and the standby wait just felt tediously long now that we had experienced it once for how stupidly short the ride is. I would have rather waited longer to ride the first time and the use our LLSP the second time.
Whether it is cooler at night is to me six to one, half dozen to the other. The time you are actually outside is so short, and unless you are in the back of the train (the better place to ride, having done bother very front and very back), there is really little reason to care. Most of the ride is inside in the dark anyhow.
Having said that, I do agree that waiting until the end of the night is a good strategy to have a shorter wait…UNLESS it backfires because it closes down. We had one experience where the wait was supposed to be about 30 minutes, but the ride broke down and we ended waiting 1 1/2 hours.
This does seem to be a nice compromise that addresses @ryan1’s point about doing SP for your second ride. I agree that would be more satisfying. Book the SP for twilight or after dark if possible.
My experience was interesting (to me at least) because it was a testament to how many people try to ride at night. I was quite surprised that my LL wait was about the same wait as my standby ride on the same day. Obviously, Ryan’s experience was different.
I’m seldom with people who are hardcore let’s close the park out at 11 pm types, so maybe the queue is much better that late. I may never find out!
Sorry. I think I should have added a paragraph break. I didn’t mean our experience with the ride breaking down was at night. I just meant we experienced a breakdown once which made the wait long. But at night, if it breaks down, they might never open the queue back up before park closes, so if you try to wait until the end of the day, you could lose out entirely.
